How to play the full Half life 2 campaign in Portal

This guide will show you how to play through the full Half Life 2 campaign in Portal.

Getting the maps

There are two methods of getting the .bsp files for the entire HL2 campaign, one in which you require Garry's mod to access, the other is completely free and requires nothing except a search browser and Portal. The first method requires you to go to this website, https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2131603329 and press the subscribe button that should be below the photos. this will start downloading all the HL2 campaign maps. to access them in Portal go to file explorer, This PC, Program Files (x86), Steam, steamapps, Workshop, Content, 4000, and then check through all the files in there (there should only be a couple depending on how many workshop items you download for it) and @ it should have a list of files that end with .bsp, the first file should be called d1_canals_01, and if you've played HL2 before you might notice that name, box select all of the .bsp files in the folder, right click, then press 'cut'. Then go to This PC, Program Files (x86), Steam, steamapps, common, Portal, portal, maps, and then right click again and press 'paste' and all of the map files should be pasted into the maps folder. In game you will have to toggle the developer console, which I'm sure you can find another steam guide on, and type, "map {mapname}" and press enter, I will list all of the map names at the end of the guide. That concludes method one.
Method two: For method two you will need to go to this link, https://www.moddb.com/addons/half-life-2-maps-gmod and press download, this is intended for Garry's mod but unlike Steam, you do not require Gmod to download it. The files should be in Downloads in file explorer and from then on follow the first method from the @ and have fun playing the HL2 campaign in Portal!

Problems

There are a couple of problems with this, like combine weapons do not actually shoot anything, some maps won't load in for some reason and instead crash the game and for some reason vortigaunts animations crash the game too, so when you see a vortigaunt, use the map {mapname} command to skip to the next map. but they are the only problems that i could find and if you have found a way to fix them please say it in the comments to help out everyone reading this.
