Rebranding to Seed of Life
The plan with SUPER SHIELD
Release date: Late 2016

Seed of Life is a meditative game in which you deflect colourful elements to create sacred patterns.

Protect the Seed of Life in the center from incoming elements by rotating a paddle on a circular canvas. Deflecting elements will fill the sky with a dance of colors that form sacred geometrical patterns, but stay vigilant; as elements move and behave in ways that will surprise and challenge you.

With hundreds of unique and dazzling compositions, Seed of Life offers a meditative experience of joy and comprehension through its real-time puzzle gameplay, and atmospheric visual and aural feedback designed to deeply immerse you in a variety of themes and ideas.

Key Features
  • A beautiful and immersive experience designed to stimulate your visual and aural senses.
  • Hundreds of unique visual compositions that reward continuous and skillful play.
  • A dynamic, evocative soundtrack that responds to your input and heightens alongside the game.
  • Test your skill and dexterity by getting a high score in Endless mode, or try to beat all 100 levels in Challenge mode.
  • Zen mode lets you play continuously - dynamically adjusting the waves you face to maintain an immersive sense of flow.

Seed of Life (formerly known as Super Shield) was born from combining the simplicity and pureness of Super Hexagon with the frantic eccentricity of Bit Trip Beat.

It controls similarly to Super Hexagon in that you move by rotating the player - a paddle in the center - but plays similarly to Bit Trip Beat by giving you moving targets that you have to deflect.

Some have described it as a 360 degree rotational Pong that results in a light show of colours and patterns.

What makes it unique and how it differs from those games is in the results of your input. Every wave of elements, when deflected, results in a unique and engaging composition that moves and dances around the center, forming patterns that fill the screen and light up. Each deflected element produces sounds that create a joyous visual and aural experience.

The default mode is a deeply meditative experience about witnessing such patterns and learning how to best solve the way they move and form. Slowly, the variety and complexity of elements increase alongside your abilities, giving you a sense of flow as you continually play at the most comforting difficulty level. There are 5 chapters each with their own sense of pacing and finale.

This mode sees you try to solve 50 unique compositions, where the aim is to deflect everything without missing a single element. Each composition results in a uniquely formed pattern that is unlocked once beaten.

Endless Score Attack
A test of your skill and dexterity. This mode sees how long you can last, throwing random wave after wave at you that increase with difficulty over time. You have 3 hit points that slowly regenerate - try to last as long as you can to set high scores and compete on the game's leaderboards. There are 5 difficulty levels with each their own specific leaderboard.

Keep calm and keep playing. This mode sees you playing endlessly as it adjusts the difficulty level to always be at the most comfortable for the player.

The game is aiming to release later in 2016 for PC/Mac/Linux.

It's hard to say exactly when, but I'm hoping to release SUPER SHIELD on Steam in the first quarter of 2016. Quite possibly in February or March. I'll be working on the title in full over Christmas and all of January, and looking to play test and incorporate any public feedback over February before launching it fully.

Thank you for everyone's interest and patience :)

@AhniTanaris Thank you for your feedback. Those are some interesting points which will be considered! Cheers.

Based on the video, I am going to suggest that the gameplay could use a little more depth. Perhaps use deflected projectiles as a weapon against other incoming attacks? Add a little strategy to the simple reflexes only mechanic. Have something worth protecting in the center. Please allow the backgrounds to be put on “still” or turned off completely. If I am going to need to pop motion sickness pills like they're candy just to be able to play it then the graphics and music (in addition to gameplay) would have to blow me away.

Wow, I watched the video and my thoughts were "So, it's Super Hexagon in reverse. Seems legit" and then I scrolled down and it said so right there. Very yes, hope it sells good :)
