Ship Repair Crew

Description
MOD ID: 2510799901

[IMPORTANT: This mod is discontinued and will no longer receive updates or support. It is confirmed working as of patch v560.3]

This Mod Adds Full Ship Repairing, Improves NPC Crew, and Provides Grid/Portal Crossing Protection
  • Fully customizable, set it up how you want.
  • Works with vanilla, modular and modded ships, as well as existing NPC crew.
  • Does not replace or modify vanilla ship repairing, this is completely independent from it.

Default Settings (can all be modified):
  • Allow repairing of all structures placed on ships without needing to be anchored. This includes planks, decks, sails, sail canvas, cannons, walls, ceilings, roofs, crafting stations, storage boxes, etc…
  • Allows NPC crew up to level 400. Vanilla settings cause any crew above level 200 to be destroyed. This setting increases that level.
  • Removes gold upkeep cost for hired crew. You must still pay for their initial hire.
  • Allows repairing of modular ship components with standard repair materials instead of Patch Kits (Does not repair the armor on the Turtle Ship).
  • Adds 'No Aggro Protection' when coming out of stasis or crossing grids for ships with Repair Podiums on them. When active, unanchored ships will not gain the aggro of any SotD/enemy NPC ships for 30 seconds after zoning into a new grid or coming out of stasis. Attacking a SotD/enemy NPC ship will cause it to ignore the protection and attack back.

Ship Repairing:
  • Learn the Ship Repair Podium skill in the Captaineering tree. No additional skill points needed.
  • Craft the Ship Repair Podium (from your inventory) and place on your ship. Only one Repair Podium can be placed per smaller ship. Larger ships can have multiple placed (Brigantine: 2, Galleon: 3).
  • Press E on the Repair Podium to start the repair process. The Structure NPC will start sweeping. After the first repair interval time has passed (15 seconds by default), if there are eligible structures, the NPC will remain sweeping and repair a random structure every 15 seconds. The repair materials are taken out the ship’s resource box first, but can also use materials in the Repair Podium’s inventory (This allows repairing of modded structures whose materials cannot be placed in a resource box).
  • Eligible structures: have all needed repair materials and has lost at least 0.05% health if unanchored (will repair any damaged if anchored).
  • When fully (green) anchored and no ship structures have been damaged in the previous 10 minutes (600 seconds), will instantly repair all structures (if materials are available) when set to repair.
  • Structures recently damaged will not be repaired until their damage cooldown has expired. The structure NPC will continue sweeping until their cooldown expires and item is repaired.
  • Once all eligible structures have been repaired, the NPC will automatically stop sweeping and will need to be activated again when repairing is needed.

Ship Repair Info UI:
  • You can access the Ship Repair Info UI through either the Repair Podium's radial menu, or the button inside its inventory.
  • Lists all structures on your ship, their current health, and whether or not they are eligible for repair.
  • Lists the exact amount of resources needed to repair the eligible structures.
  • Shows mod settings.
  • Shows progress bars for ship information: current/max level, current/max experience, current/max structures, current/max sail points, current/max modular points.

Customization:

Add to your GameUserSettings.ini file under the header [ShipRepairCrew]. You only need to add the lines for the ones you are changing from default.

MaxCrewLevel=400

To re-enable NPC crew needing a gold upkeep:

Hey there! Just curious, but will the repairs work on fully destroyed planks as well as damaged parts?
H2O-Melons  [author] Oct 7, 2022 @ 1:54pm
@Welveryn, that seems odd that this mod would be doing that, since it should not be changing ship levels at all. Generally if you have issues with ships not leveling up past certain points, it's due to server settings affecting max dino level or your ship xp ramps.
