Getting Started
Complete the game up until you reach the Restricted Zone, the final chapter of the storyline. It may take you 5 hours or so if you rush through the story. More info can be found here:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=687109791

Once you activate that arcade machine, you will be able to access TimeSplitters 2 at any time through the Extras menu.

You can also use this save file provided by Griryu to skip ahead to TS2 being unlocked.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lmt9HOr0QU7sgFQ9FnFk5KWtD_TM3X32/view?usp=sharing

Place the files in Users\[USER NAME]\Saved Games\homefront2\SaveGames and in \Users\[USER NAME]\Saved Games\homefront2\Profiles. Replace any existing files in the destinations.
Entering Codes
Cheats can be entered at any point in TS2 from here. They can be done with a controller, like an Xbox 360 one, or with your keyboard and mouse. It's best to do them in the story menu, as some will make you go back to a previous menu. The Arcade cheat will make you exit the game, but you can re-enter it and play Arcade as intended. Wait for each menu to load before continuing a cheat that entered or closed another menu, as rushing it can cause issues with the code registering.

Here are the codes, courtesy of Fanoto and the Dambuster Studios Easter Egg discord. All credit goes to them for this discovery!

Patch to keep TS2 unlocked & fix bugs
Thanks to Discord user Fanoto, it is now possible to permanently enable the TimeSplitters 2 cheats and fix some bugs within the game!

Download his patch here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ur0xpqucp890i6o/Timesplitters.ups?dl=0.
After it is installed, go to this site: https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/. Use the patch on your Homefront2.exe file in Steam\steamapps\common\Homefront_The_Revolution\Bin64.

This should create a patched version of the .exe file. Move that patched file into the Bin64 folder alongside the normal version of Homefront. After that, create a shortcut to the patched .exe file and run the game.

This patch permanently enables the codes to unlock all Story levels, Arcade League/Custom, and Challenges. It also fixes the crashes caused by Reaper Splitters spawning in Return to Planet X, Wild West, Atom Smasher, Aztec Ruins, Robot Factory, and Space Station.

If you're confused, I made a video tutorial on how to install the patch here:

Notes about the Cheats and the Port
  • Your profile name will be the same as your computer's user name.
  • If you use codes to unlock the extra content, you will need to re-enter them every time you restart Homefront: The Revolution.
  • The menus can be buggy in TS2. Some things will appear scrunched-up or off-screen, like the levels menu.
  • Some story levels will crash the game, like NeoTokyo.
  • Everything is unlocked when a code is entered. This also includes the Consultant character, who is not normally available.
  • Gun sounds are different in this port. There are also unique lighting effects for fire and laser weapons.
  • Rain effects will create visual glitches. For example, in the final section of Notre Dame, black squares will appear on your screen instead of raindrops.

Here's an example of a menu distortion.

Here is how the character menu looks.
(Optional) Trimming down game files
If you want to scale down the file size of Homefront: The Revolution, you can use Scotch's TS2 Ripper program to remove everything that isn't needed to run TimeSplitters 2.
  • Download the program here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ofu5x3m8gqhebcj/TS2-Ripper.bat?dl=0.
  • Save to your desktop (or anywhere) and run.
  • Paste your Homefront folder path into it and hit enter. It will then put all non-essential files in Homefront_The_Revolution\ripped.
  • You can either keep the ripped folder, in case you want to make Homefront work as usual again, or delete it to save space.
This is version 0.1. It takes it down to 16GB, saving about 30GB.
(Optional) Loading straight to TS2 with another patch
Another patch, created by Discord user devildwarf, will skip past the Homefront menu and boot up the TimeSplitters 2 port when you start the game. You can combine this with the previous patch to skip directly to the unlocked version of TS2.

Download devildwarf's patch here: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/726977763826991165/832694557371924530/TS2patchByDevilDwarf.exe
Place the .exe file in Steam\steamapps\common\Homefront_The_Revolution\Bin64 and run it. It should alter your Homefront2_release.exe file to load straight to TS2. There is an option to create a backup file before implementing the patch, too.

If you do this with the original Homefront 2 file instead of the .exe with Fanoto's patch, you will still need to enter codes to unlock its extra content.

Conclusion
There's still more to figure out about the TS2 port. Can MapMaker be accessed? Does multiplayer work if you access the machines in co-op mode? What is the Hasit Debug Menu, and can it permanently enable the extra content of TS2? I will try to keep this guide updated when new information comes out.

An in-depth look at the Homefront 2 port of TS2, which was made by Scotch, can be found here. Remove the spaces in the address for it to work.

I think there's an option to turn off automatic updates for Steam games. Steam hasn't tried to do that for my version, so I must've done something beforehand to stop it from trying to "fix" the cut-down version of Homefront.

Thank you for this guide, wonderful job! Question about TS2-Ripper, every time i run it and delete the ripped files, Steam keeps trying to update and replace the deleted files. Is there a way to stop steam permanently from trying to update Homefront after running this?

@BigCMGN

Add me so we can discuss this further.

Damn, now this is a great guide! Do you happen to write for any websites by chance? I ask because I run MGN - and I'm interested in publishing your work (and paying you for it). HMU if interested!

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll just post regular links to the videos.

I managed to find the video on YouTube, I think Steam is having issues displaying the video.

Here's the link for anyone that needs it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIqCetRqLCc

I just released a video tutorial on how to do it. I also tried tweaking the wording of that section to make the instructions clearer.

Can you explain in more detail how to apply the Timesplitters.ups patch?

I downloaded it but how do you install it, what do you put into the ROM patcher site?
