Crafting & Equipping Armor
How To Craft
Let's craft a simple Wooden Helmet and equip it.
*This method is the same for all armor and shields.
  • Check what workstation and materials we need to make a Wooden Helmet, you can find all the game recipes here : Tinkerpedia Recipes.
  • We need
    • x10 Wood for the Workbench
    • x5 Wood + x2 Leather for the Wooden Helmet.
  • Gather the required materials.

    *I am not going to explain everything on how to obtain materials.
  • Press your 'Tab' key to open your inventory and hand crafting menu.
  • On the right side crafting panel select the Workbench and craft it.

  • Place the workbench into one of the slots numbered 1-10 in your inventory and place the workbench down in your map.
  • Right click on the new Workbench to display the Workbench's crafting menu on the right side of the screen.
  • Search for the Wooden Helmet and click craft.

    How To Equip
  • Your new Wooden Helmet will now be in your inventory

  • You must then LEFT CLICK AND HOLD THE BUTTON to grab the helmet and then drag to your character armor slots displayed under the inventory space. Release the button when the helmet is over the head box. as shown in the image below in red.
*3 ways to visually see the helmet is equipped.

Hey thanks this was a lot of help
Screech  [author] May 19, 2021 @ 1:18pm
correct yes, there is no currently set bonus for wearing sets, I just organised them in order of materials used to craft them etc. what you see is what you get type of thing :D
Tech Enthusiast May 19, 2021 @ 12:54pm
Oh, so the stats are with the str factored in, not a set bonus. I see.
So it does not matter if you have a matching set, just what values they add.
Screech  [author] May 19, 2021 @ 12:08pm
im confused where you got the idea that you gained a set bonus of x2 damage when wearing a complete set? I have input the stats for each individual armor/weapon etc within the game, the "Complete Set Stats" displayed under each full set is just all the above stats added together if you wore the set at the same time? this one done so people could see the info if they crafted the full set.

My current best build : (Strength/Agility Build)
- Gold Circlet
- Cactus Armor
- Cactus Gloves
- Cactus Boots

Stats :
Armor = 14
Strength = 12
Agility = 19
Speed = 2

I know some players choose to swap out the cactus boots for ice, this is -1 to strength which is not very noticeable, but increases speed from 2 to 6. Allowing for faster movement around the map.

hope this makes sense, thank you for the kind comment and i hope to get it finished asap. much appreciated.
Tech Enthusiast May 19, 2021 @ 3:14am
Weapons list a "full set" damage.
Do they realy get a 2x damage buff for wearing a set? I can't find any reference to this in the game,... and I don't see any damage values for weapons in the game either, unless hitting things obviously.

So basically:
For pure damage, just ignore str values and go with cactus or ice? Replacing the helm for a str circlet would actually lower the damage AND armor in that case?
Using a Chitin set would cripple damage, since an ice sword would do half damage?
Only the cactus set will get full use out of a desert bow?

Confused here. ;-)
Great information gathering tho! Keep it up!
Screech  [author] May 2, 2021 @ 10:56am
unfortunately not, I know there is plans to add in some kind of mannequin at a later date but that's not 100%, for now the only real way I know of at the moment is use an empty bookcase and then place your armor in the correct order on the bookcase for it to be displayed :D
Antanasia May 2, 2021 @ 7:31am
Hello, thank you very much for this guide.
Is there a piece of furniture that allows you to display all the armours in decoration?
Screech  [author] Apr 27, 2021 @ 12:45pm
Thank you for the feedback, yes i can add that in, seems like a good idea as I do agree with you many have been asking about equipping them. Yes i was mixed with how to lay this out and part of me wanted it set up as you mentioned and the other part was in sets, maybe at a later date when the game gets bigger it maybe more beneficial to do it in categories 'weapons', 'helms' etc i may also add in the link i have to a google sheet i created with all items that are then sort-able, along with a character builder. Thanks again. i will update now :D
sensei76 Apr 27, 2021 @ 12:35pm
This is a good guide. Personally I like all weapons together, then all armor together rather then each weapon in each category of set, but it works as is. I have seen some question (seems dumb) how to equip armor, perhaps a quick sentence with a picture to start things off on drag and drop into "this" box to place armor, even if it seems obvious. This was well done, and I hope you keep up with it as the game progresses. **Thumbs up**
