A patch to add FU's racial bonuses & BYOS function for "Mollopods!" by ѕaιnт apollyon
(Note: this is fan patch, created with permission from the original author of Mollopods)

Naturally, this mod REQUIRES "Frackin Universe" & "Mollopods!" to function
(The character extender featured in the screenshot is the "Peglaci Character Extender" by GonDragon)

Please note: this is my first mod, & even though it's a simple patch, I still recommend you backup your storage files juuuust in case.

Current Fixes
  • Racial Bonuses(see below for more specifics) & description on character creation
  • FU Interface patches (tech recognizes mollopods as a race)
  • FU's BYO ship capabilities (able to select frackin ships, or utilize the FU SAIL menu from vanilla ship)
  • Ship locker starting treasure fix (includes FU's items as well as the Mollopod's)

Planned additions
  • Adding Mollopod crafted items to research tree for other races to access
  • Potentially adding a race specific tech (no promises here)

Potential changes
  • Continued balancing of stats & bonuses (feedback is welcome here!)
  • Optimization of some of the biome lists in environmental effects

Race bonuses & weaknesses
Diet: Omnivorous (so long as it isn't bland)

  • Slug skin: +30;% speed & slowed breath loss in liquid, but -25% charisma (reduced trading skill), & -20% speed on land
  • Resist: +60% poison resistance, +15% physical resistance & grit(reduces knockback effects), -50% fall damage
  • Immune: Poison status, bio-ooze, darkness, slime, & environmental slows (jungle, mud, & clay)

Environmental effects:
  • Warm, humid biomes (jungles, rainforests, bogs, etc): +20% Health & Energy
  • Saltwater biomes (ocean, sea, tidewater, etc): +10% Health, & Protection
  • Hot, and/or arid biomes (deserts, savannahs, volcanos, etc): -25% Health, & Speed, -50% Energy
  • Open air (atmosphere, cloud minibiomes): -25% mental protection, & -10% physical protection

Weapon effects:
  • Spears, halbreds (axes), & glaives (Broadswords): +15% damage, +10% crit
  • Bows, Crossbow, Harpoons: +10% damage, +20% protection
  • Other Swords (katanas, shortswords, etc): +5% damage

  • Resists: -60% Fire, -20% Electric, -5% Ice

  • Frackin Races - Does not work with FR due to the BYOS files. Currently working on a FR standalone patch~ stay tuned
If you have FR only then please use the Frackin Races Standalone Version :D

Advice is welcome, ofc, since I am new at this, but also please be patient as it may take me a little longer to problem solve any issues since I'm inexperienced & teaching myself.

Nah, this is frackin universe dependent. It has all the frackin race stuff, so it'd definitely crash with just BYOS lol

I'm not familiar with the non-FU BYOS so I'm not sure if the same files would work in that either, sorry -- if they do tho, like, you're more than welcome to my files. (you can unpack them or I can send them to you or something)

Just make sure to check with ѕaιnт apollyon if its cool to do since this is their mod!

can i use this with just byos and not frackin?
cuz i want to use byos but not fracking cuz it breaks a lot of stuff

@A-kun -- you'd probably want to ask the OG mod owner, this is just a compatibility patch I made with their permission! 'v'

Though what you're talking about wouldn't be a hard patch to create, if ѕaιnт apollyon was ok with you altering their art for this specific idea/use. (I don't know if *I* would have the time/energy to create it, but it's probably the easiest thing you could want to edit lol)

I know this a long shot, but is there a chance to make a Humanoid version but with a long tail that represents the slug body.

@Albi I haven't tried it with it, but I suspect not due to the BYOS files -- if it does work, it might not function when I add in the research tree files. However, I'm not against seeing if I can isolate the racial files & making a FR version if there's a demand for it :)

Part 2 of testing what works or doesnt in the list, looks like using the old mollopod i used in my friend's modlist works just fine, but resubbing to all of those mods (AND PURPOSEFULLY EXCLUDING THE ONES THAT WERE LISTED PREVIOUSLY) and this one while playing a new one totally scuffs it.

also the ship error is probably due to a misloaded character not item IDs i just realized this doesnt add items i'm just stupid lol.

TLDR we might have to comb through all of it together because i'm at a loss of what's the issue, if you wanna go forward from this i'll send you the two lists and we'll check together what might be the problem here. mama didnt raise no quitter
