See an unseen side of Root with the Outsiders Expansion, a collection of free fanmade content adding six new factions, a vagabond variant, a double-sided map board including varying modes of play and even an all-new deck of cards to the world of Root. In fact, there’s never been so many outrageous and totally unorthodox ways to play this game in one box before! (from the Box)

6 Full Factions of Varying Complexity!
BONE PATROL![boardgamegeek.com]- A brash bunch of bullies with only one thing on the brain. Bones! Bones! Bones! Bones! Patrol the board, dig up those bones and get ‘em back to your stash, pronto! Good dog! (Moderate)
WINGED MENACE[boardgamegeek.com]- Agents of chaos which infest the board, swarm into clearings with strong numbers and make an absolute mess of the place (yuck) reveling in the screams of a terrorized Woodland. (Moderate)
ORDER of the FOREST[boardgamegeek.com]- An ancient sect of altruists, this faction of all factions is only looking to help. Can they help if witnessing their faith brings others to their cause, adding them into their own ranks? (High)
CROAKERS COVEN[boardgamegeek.com]- Beware the abominous amphibians and their dark, board-warping magic. First, they turn your warriors to stone. Then they collect power from those statues for more insidious spells! (High)
THE TWELVE COLONIES[boardgamegeek.com]- A two-party system of Libertarian reptiles, these snakes and turtles work together towards instituting a new form of goverment for every creature across all twelve clearings. (Very High)
OLD MAN TINKER[boardgamegeek.com]- This bearded old beaver, a complete nutjob, bustles about the forest with his powerful trio of robots like a total mad man. Madder yet, he claims to have come from the future! (Very High)

THE GROUCH! [drive.google.com]- A sour and ill-tempered crow who’d just as soon sit at home in his trash can with his precious collection of fish heads as he would tell you to take a hike. Yikes! What a grouch!

A NeW Double-Sided Map!
DEEP WOODS MAP [boardgamegeek.com]- Experience the harsh beginnings of your favourite Woodland by taking a trip into the distant past. This frontier themed map features a Settler mechanic that will force you into new, unexplored strategies. It also serves as a modular map for more everyday play!
WASTELANDS MAP [boardgamegeek.com]- Experience the war-torn future of the Woodland, ravaged by generations of moving and battling and moving and battling. FEEDBACK
The included content is considered STABLE - aka ‘It has survived a minimum of 10 Playtests with a variety of Official Root Content in its most current iteration (with only minor changes) and exhibited no noticeable balance issues. While feedback is appreciated, it is good to remind ourselves that fan content is created by individuals doing something that they enjoy and in their own (limited) free time. Individuals simply do not have the same resources that established board game companies have available to them and, most importantly...

FAN CONTENT IS CREATED FOR FREE AND FOR FUN!
- It cannot be playtested to the same extent that a full or part-time staff can provide.
- It is unlikely to be translated into multiple languages or receive any such level of support. (Fanmade creations can take dozens of hours, days, weeks and months to create, test and provide - all for free – it simply may not be within those creators’ power to do more than they have.)
- It is made purely out of love, nothing more. Being supportive - even just giving a thumbs up - can go a long way to making an individual’s day a much better one.

The rewards are rare but the love is there ❤️🐌
