I'm not sure if you're still interested in working on this mod or expanding it, but would it be possible to make a configuration for gear to be dropped and remain in world (for item/type lifetimes, ideally) while player body is removed?
I know this is probably a strange ask, because this *wont* improve server performance really, but it would be super useful for RP servers, where someone's character often doesn't "die" when their toon does.
Just a suggestion/question!
