They work in the world i host with my friends (usually to fix their houses since they are horrible viking architects). and to teleport back to them when they join cause im too far away to get back in a acceptable amount of time while exploring.
Ya, that may be the case. Thank you for the info
This make placing them as traps for other players nearly impossible because your own proximity when they appear is usually enough to trigger them unless you are VERY fast and can fly to a safe distance.
Exceptions are the ones that create a physical destructable object: BonePileSpawner, Spawner_GreyDwarfNest, and Spawner_Draugr. It should also be noted that these spawners, like other spawned objects, will appear at the height of the players waist, meaning tghat if you want them to appear on the ground, you have to dig a little hole for yourself.
One of the projects I am working on is a "Don't Break the Ice" style PVP arena (that game from childhood) where part of the challenge is killing your opponent by destroying the environment around him. So it's crucial for me to have some structure that are flimsy as hell and others that are structurally sound. It's actually crazy fun.
I have another one (probably releasing today) for SP where the user is tasked with driving evil from a lost temple... ideally before the mobs manage to destroy the only means of getting to the treasure. Again, having areas that a secure and areas that are destructible is crucial.
For example, I am using corgi statues to build WAY beyond the normal height limit. I practice placement on copy of my world so I know exactly where to point to get the statue to appear where I want. Then I switch to my world, mimic what I did, and boom, no more mistakes =)
