Update 5 - Some Tunes
Update 4 – Hiatus
The Game:
Bandit Mech 17 is a vertical shooter game that is based on "Episodes" in which the player takes control of a stolen Alliance Mech that is piloted by a young and unknown thief, simply known as, “Kid”.
It all takes place at a time when the world has been separated into two government factions:
The Alliance and The Federation.
Both government powers have been at war for years, fighting over territory and airspace – what's one random Kid in a Mech to the two of them? Surely, nothing, right?

Episodic Features:
  • Classic SHMUP mechanics.
  • Story driven gameplay.
  • Endless Mode – all about the big score and surviving till the end.(?)
  • Fully voiced characters, scenes and dialogue.
  • 20 original soundtracks for the first episode (includes 3 Bonus Tracks).
  • 5-6 levels per episode, including: increased level difficulty, boss fights and cut-scenes.
  • Various character interactions: friend and foe.
  • Mini-objective based goals within levels.
  • New Mech abilities gained through the progression of story mode.
  • Extras, including: gallery and soundtrack music player.

Episodes Planned in Series:

PC/MAC (other platforms require the demand for the initial release.)

Currently supports some Gamepads (Xbox360 controller included).

About the Game:
Bandit Mech 17 is a story driven game that uses SHMUP mechanics to tell a story through the player's progress of gameplay.
It is not intended to be a “bullet hell” or traditional SHMUP where players are placed into the level with no or very little explanation.
Instead, the game uses the SHMUP genre to tell a story and further develop throughout the levels.
It is filled with dialogue and cut-scenes that give players insight to the different and various character personalities that make the story either humorous or dramatic till the end.

The game is intended to be entertaining, fun and short.
If the game is Greenlit, it will go on sale for $1.99.

It seems like a fun story, but you really need to work in some other aspects of the game. Good luck!

A fun premis. Good story telling, with great humor...I wouldn't expect this to come off well with a top down shooter. But, it seems to do just that. It has a long way to go, no doubt. But, I like it...Going to put my full thoughts in a new discussion titled "Potential."

I completely agree -- bullets/graphics are being made to stand out from the background and be more visible during gameplay.

I'll be sure to address this in the next coming update.
Thank you for checking out the game and providing feedback.
