From 600m onwards, even a reduction to under 100 tris would be perfectly sufficient, and a roughly shaped rectangle would be entirely adequate.
That this model is very performance-intensive is already evident in the video. The stuttering shows that the model is simply computationally intensive for the PC.
Please don't misunderstand. The model looks very good, and I would be very happy if the performance-relevant LOD levels were revised so that the vehicle can be used without hesitation.
For future models, I recommend building small curves with fewer surfaces and applying a smoothing effect. A railing can easily be given a square cross-section while still maintaining the optical illusion of a round object. The larger the round object, the greater the number of surfaces.
32 surfaces. Even the default setting of "Blender" in Transport Fever is only suitable for objects larger than a truck tire.

While these exist, they offer virtually no change. Only 5,000 rivets are removed in LOD1, and none in LOD2.
LOD1 should be reduced by at least half to 25m with this number of tris.
For this vehicle, that would mean all screws and rivets.
LOD2, which has a distance of 300m - 2010m, should only have a maximum of 10k tris. Below 5k would be better. ...

The model is very nice, and I would have liked to use it on my fictional "My Summer Car" map.
However, I've noticed that this model needs some performance optimization.
Currently, the vehicle has approximately 440,000 rivets. This is a bit much for a single model intended to run in Transport Fever 2.
The main problem is the numerous individual rivets whose modeling has too many surfaces.
I assume this is the default setting of the 3D program with 32 surfaces in the curve. Using 4-6 surfaces and a smooth effect would achieve the same result but consume only a fraction of the resources.
The high number of rivets in LOD0 isn't the problem, though.
The issue only arises with LOD1 and LOD2. ...
