Description
Conquer the Stronghold with the help of your people using a new command system!

Stronghold was made for the October 2020 Map Jam. If you like it please vote for it! Also, make sure to play the other #oct2020jam entries!

The mod does not seem to work with internal_testing, use the stable version of Overgrowth! I have added a light version of the level with 60% less enemies in case that the default level is too hard on your CPU. This version is also a bit easier.

You can find a tutorial for the level here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxnOKnRLgVE

Goals
1st Goal: Reach the two flags at the gate on the wall. By doing this you will receive support. The ramp is on the inside of the castle near the gate.
2nd Goal: Reach the entrance of the tower at the very end of the castle. If no enemy nearby is alive you will conquer the castle and win the game!

Controls
This mod allows you to control your allies. You can do that with the following keys:
  • F: Command: Go to player
  • G: Command: Go to camera direction
  • H: Command: Follow player
  • T: Command: Stand down
  • R: Command: Reset behavior
  • N: Decrease yell radius
  • M: Increase yell radius
  • 1: Set yell radius to 2 m
  • 2: Set yell radius to 5 m
  • 3: Set yell radius to 10 m
  • 4: Set yell radius to 20 m
  • 5: Set yell radius to 40 m
Your people will not attack as long as they are executing a command. For example, if you pressed H for follow you will have to reset the units with R before they will attack nearby enemies. For destination related commands the task is finished once the goal is reached and the units will start attacking again automatically (unless they were told to stand down with T). The HUD on the right side will highlight the executed command.

Use the command system. Otherwise you will not beat this level.

Units
Raider: A savage with weak armor.
Soldier: A good figther with good armor.
Tank: A great fighter with great armor. But also very slow.
Bomberman: Explodes when receiving damage. Use your team mates to defuse them.
Flag Bearer: Makes nearby units invincible for 5 seconds. Not themself.
Giant: Untamed beast. Fast and deadly.

Misc
If you get any errors make sure that the mod dependencies are installed and enabled. This mod does not override any original game files, so compatibility-wise there should be absolutely no conflicts with other mods.

The bombermen are burning now, so it is much easier to spot them.

Thanks! The old problem that it is hard to judge the own level. I hope some people have at least fun with it.
I think it is very likely that I will do a mod with some components of it at least in the future. I just love the exploding rats way too much.

Wow - and to think this was done in two weeks.

Outstanding mod and a completely different game mechanic.
I know that you must be frustrated watching us fail at the simplest tasks but bear with us that this is something completely unique we have to wrap our heads around.

Please expand on this idea further and polish it up because it would be a tragedy if this mod would go to waste. I think I'm not the only one If I say that we'd like to see more levels in the future (after a break of course, I believe that the two weeks were a scripting nightmare!)

You definitely have my vote on this map jam! Good job!
