Release date: 11/1/2016
I have fond memories of playing snake games as a kid. I've played at least a hundred variations from dozens of computer and smartphone versions, old phones and graphing calculators back in the 90's, and possibly even a few console versions. The one thing I've always thought newer versions were missing was a properly implemented 3-dimensional element.

Snake Cubed is my attempt at a 3d version of the classic snake game. The game is currently being developed as a single-player 3D puzzle game for Windows, Mac and Linux. It’s a twist on the classic game Snake, played on 3D environments, allowing you to go “over the edge!” as you explore all sides of the map while avoiding your ever growing tail. The gameplay has been updated with traps, enemies, power-ups, jumps, portals, time shifting, achievements, and all around awesomeness. There are also plans for a multiplayer online version in the near future, pending additional funding. In its current state it's completely lacking graphics, sound effects, and anything really sexy. It's a working game prototype, but it definitely needs some love.

Any idea on when you're looking at releasing this?

Thanks for all the great feedback! I've implemented a lot of the suggestions and fixed all the reported bugs. Now that the game's been greenlit I'm building tons of levels in preparation for release. Stay Tuned!!!

Unable to edit post
• a quick 180º flip and a 90º twist key
- e.g W is a 180º flip (back of cube)
- e.g. S is a 90º twist (orientation.)
Edit: changed 45 to 90

Like the concept and the game!

•there really needs to be a mouse sencitivity slider!
- find my self moving my mouse half way across my desk during game play.

•"A" "D" key support or key settings

• maybe a "W" "S" or Q, W, E, R qwick flips?

• a quick 180º flip and a 90º twist key
- e.g W is a 180º flip (back of cube)
- e.g. S is a 45º twist (orientation.)

• Space to speed game play
- On hold speeds the game 25-50%

this looks like it could be very confusing for some people, but i say it has some potential to become a full out game on steam.

Will keep an eye on this. I think with more complex 3D level terrain, it could have a lot of gameplay depth. Definitely need a graphical update before release, though, simple 3D models kind of creep me out for some reason.
