Description
Game Description:
Hidden Intruder is a reprint/re-skin of Intruder: a one player board game that re-creates the theme and feel of the movie "Alien". The game can also be played with 1-3 players.

The goal is to survive an encounter with an alien "intruder" on a space ship.
The Intruder is an alien being of unknown power. During the course of the game the Intruder will move through the space station as both the hunter and the hunted. One or more players must cope with a monster that moves rapidly and changes continuously as it undergoes metamorphosis into a more powerful being, and possibly divides into two or more clones.

Hidden Intruder is a solitaire game – BUT it has 3 “scenarios” or different ways to play that allow for 2-3 players to play:

1) Intelligent Intruder (One player plays the Intruder)
2) Return to Prometheus (One player plays the Intruder, or 3 players each take a team of 3 troops)
3) Science Officers (2 players, each control a separate team, with slightly different win conditions, allowing for one player or both players or neither player to win)

The game includes 54 counters representing the crew and their weapons, lab animals (which confuse the search) and the Intruder. The playing map shows in detail the interior of deep space station ‘Prometheus’. The map also contains special charts to record the development of the Intruder.

Hidden Intruder is an exciting game of terror and suspense for one to two players. Hidden Intruder is a reskin of the old Classic game, Intruder. Dennis Sustare, designer of Intruder, has agreed to let me reprint his game with this new art."

Good tactics to be sure Lucid. I found the game well balanced but you can definitely get a good edge with careful and planned game play. Not every time though :)

Good game, short and fun, intense moments where you're in control and on the hunt for the intruder alien can quickly spiral into a chaotic mess by the whim of a few bad die rolls, and even vice versa. Though, I gotta say, if you know what you're doing then it can be a bit too easy. Group as many crew mates into one room and hunt as a pack, using the benefit of multiple die rolls against the monster to your advantage. It seems the only way to lose, then, is if you have multiple unlucky die rolls in a row.

Fantastic job! I have the original "Intruder", which I bought, brand new, in a plastic bag for $3.99 at a hobby store in the early 80's. Such a great game.

Nice thing about it is its fairly easy to play and usually only steals about an hour of your time. Its origins go way back to the folio Metagaming days of yor. Andrew Tullsen and Print and Play Productions gave it a nice modern re-imagining. Chitin: I of the same era is next. Bugs on Bugs for a change :) That one also got a nice re-imaging from Scott Everts on BGG.

This game looks pretty cool and well done! I will have to give it a try. So many games and so little time :)
