Proper widescreen (NEW FIX)
By -3xA'Lu©κy the disappearing act
A definitive method for getting Hitman: Contracts working in proper widescreen.

For those who think the file contained in this guide may be a virus:

This gets the game running at most widescreen resolutions and with the appropriate FOV (field of view) too. Unlike previous widescreen solutions, this fix seems to have no negative side effects and is incredibly easy to apply.

* Credit goes to nemesis2000 for creating this fix and Russian_Boomhauer ( http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198113836993 ) for providing an additional step some users might need to do. Their fix can be found on the following website: http://ps2wide.net/pc.html#h3
The method

To get the game working in widescreen, you'll want to do the following:

1. Download the widescreen fix from the link below:

2. Unzip and paste the files from the file you downloaded, into your game's main folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hitman Contracts\). You won't need to overwrite any existing files.

3. Now go to: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Hitman Contracts\

4. In there, open the "h3.ini" file that you just pasted and change "Width = 1280" and "Height = 720" to reflect your current desktop's resolution values. For example, since my desktop resolution is 1920 x 1080, my "h3.ini" file would like this:
Width = 1920
Height = 1080

And that's all there is to it. Everything should be fine but if your map is frozen in-game, you might need to do an additional step:

5. Open the "HitmanContracts.ini" file (found in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Hitman Contracts\) and add "Window 1" (without quotation marks) to the bottom of the file and "StartUpperPos 0,0" (again without quotation marks) below that Window 1 line. Now just save the file and try launching the game again.

While there is also a letterbox option in the "h3.ini" file ("Letterbox = 0"), changing 0 to 1 personally didn't do anything for me.

It worked fine, but I have a problem with Fps, they unlocked and I have like 500 fps and make my game run weird , like slowmo, but physics likes bodies moving so fast when I shoot them, there is a way to lock to 30fps? with this proper widescreen Need your help pls! :GreenMan:

While were talking about graphics and stuff does anyone feel like this game has less graphical fidelity than Hitman 2

I realized that it fixed lots of things, but i dont see the intro video and other stuff because it stays black screen and some enemy heads just happen to stay black. If you can guide me with that, i would appreciate it very much.

Best regards, Valuab7e

I should mention that the stutter only occurs at 60hz, when I lock to 144hz it seems to be totally fine...

I really cannot figure out this issue. I can get the game running fine, I can even get gsync working. It seems to run fine at 144hz, but I know the engine isn't designed for it so I am trying to cap to 60. I can do this fine, in a few different ways, but no matter what i try, every single time i click a mouse button, the game stutters for a second. Its driving me absolutely nuts. Anyone else on a 144hz 1440p freesync screen who can test this out for me? I'ts driving me crazy trying to figure out if the problem is with my rig or not
