Step 1
Make sure that you are in a public session and if you aren't, join one.
Step 2
The next thing you should do is to Alt+Tab from the game and open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc). After that, go to the Performance section.
Step 3
When you are in the Performance section, press the Open Resource Monitor button.
Step 4
When you open the Resource Monitor, go to the Network section and search for GTA 5.
Step 5
After you've found GTA V, press on it with your right button and then press Suspend Process. Wait for around 7-12 seconds and then click on Resume Process.

Step 6
Now, you can close the Resource Monitor and the Task Manager and go back to the game. When you're back, you should be alone in a public session.
Enjoy!

hmm my router just connects as soon as i plug the cable back into my comp. like one or 2 seconds later im online and things are moving right along. :winter2019neutralbulb: thanks though for the guide. it is nice to know, presumably, the safest way to go about it. i should probably do it your way for the sake of ware on my hardware.

Idk how to do it with firewall, but someone in the comments had mentioned it before.

i usually count to 5-7 and it works for me, now if someone could post a step by step on how to keep it that way using a firewall thatd be sick, but could you invite friends doing that or would it just pop up an error on their end if you did use a firewall

After you've done this trick use your firewall to block port 6672 udp in/out and the public session will remain you only. We sync our firewalls to keep our own public session.
