Shepherd Star

Description
Shepherd Star is a competitive Christian card game for 2-4 players, ages 4+.

Each player must protect their own sheep while attempting to gain sheep from their opponents by remembering scripture verses or bible facts.

The game uses select verses of the bible that are common in Sunday School and easy to remember.

I have a poor memory myself, which was the inspiration for the game. With that said, my son was memorizing more than this in secular school. Players will certainly not get all the verses, but the idea is to 'promote' bible reading and verse memorization by challenging them.

Perhaps you should play the game you created again. It might have seemed intuitive when you wrote it but try it again as if for the first time. Do you have perfect recall of the 40 verses you mentioned? If so, do you think this is accessible to children? The game is simply too hard for children.

Perhaps if one were able to customize the cards it would be useful. I am in fact a student of theology and a lifelong Bible School teacher and this game is beyond me.

For clarification, there are 52 total playable cards, 40 of those related to verse memorization- all verses were taken from information geared toward children or used to teach the very young, such as in a Sunday School. You do not need perfect memory or to be a student of theology to play the game. Though, I think all children should study theology from a very young age.

Its a shame The game has nice graphics and everything but an understanding of what kids reasonably know.

To play this game you need a perfect recall of perhaps hundreds of Bible verses. Also there are only a few cards that are not memory verses and they fail to provide the correct answer. If you kid doesn't have a photographic memory I would only play this game with a bunch of theology students.
