Remove GFWL from The Club

This guide will help users remove GFWL components from The Club (2008) and doesn't require installing any GFWL software and works on windows 10 based pc's. I cant vouch it will work for every system configuration, however it worked on my windows 10 latest build.

This method will remove all GFWL components from The Club. Thus, this will remove all multiplayer components will not function anymore. Such as multiplayer, achievements, etc. However the game is so old now, i doubt many if at all, are still playing online anyways.

(1) Download The Club game files from steam
(2) Download Xlive less Addon.zip from: https://community.pcgamingwiki *dot* com/files/file/576-xliveless/
(added spaces since steam is weird)
!NOTE: I did not create this xlive less version, however the author had the source code on the bitbucket (The link is dead, new one posted). The author has also created countless game fixes for various game titles in the past, however still use at your own risk!
(3) Place all files from Xlive less Addon.zip into the game's main directory. E.g. G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Club
(4) Run the game, you will notice your profile will be named Player1 and if you have any saved data before, it will not work with this method and require a new game save data.

I got it working, except my profile is NOT named player1 and i can't save the game?? This is driving me crazy! :)

You can also change the nickname by opening the xlive dll into a hex editor, search for Player1 (case sensitive) and replace-it with desired name

I tried this and got it to work on the Steam Deck in desktop mode but when I try it in gaming mode, I just get a white screen with "Are you sure you want to quit?" and a Yes/No prompt.
