Alchemist as Support, recently hot pick in competitive games.

My guide is about Alchemist played as support, he is now widely used in competitve games and really dominates pub games.
My guide is also about synergies with other heroes and overall game style.

Why not hard carry?

Alchemist is really universal hero, and until last patch he was god tier carry, now pro's use better carries. His ultimate was changed, now he regens his HP faster and can tank towers really well, also remember he has the best stun in game, though you need to charge it. And this is it, as carry is hard to use your stun since you will either miss creeps or throw not charged stun, but support can freely roam and throw it from fog of war. His acid spray is also a great armor shred and you can stack 2 camps with it.

Starting items

• Courier/Sentry/Observer - depends on your 2nd support.

Early core

• Medalion of Courage - Forgot about this item, really strong armor shred and mana regeneration. dont get soul ring if you bought it.
  
• Soul Ring - its synergies with your high mana costs, get this if you want spam your skills like a madman.
  
• Boots - 450 Gold and no one will escape from your stun.
  
• Magic Stick - if against Batrider etc.
  
• Wards
  
• TP SCROLL - To counter gank, help your lanes and ganks.

Going big

• Shadow Blade - More for a Initator role, let you escape and also some damage.
  
• Mekansm - Its your first big item, really good heal.
  
• Vladimir's Offering
  
• Armlet - Improves your dps, and adds a lot of tankiness.
  
• HoT - You will be unbreakable.
  
• Phase boots - Improving your stunning.

What to max?

Always start with stun, if you have trilane with good stuns like You,Crystal Maiden and Slardar, you can try first blooding enemies. You can also try to gank mid lane if you have mid Invoker with Cold Snap or Storm Spirit.
YOU ALWAYS MAX:
STUN and SPRAY, picking Ulti at 6.
After if you farm more Greed or stats if you feel you need extra survi.

- Naga [Both as support and carry, she can catch enemy offguard and also more armor shreds.]

No need for the soulring if you get a Medallion after boots that will give you 50% mana regen + your ult which also gives mana regen and only has a 45 second cooldown. The medallion also stacks with your Acid spray which helps to secure kills early.
