Sin DM Dedicated Server

Details on how to host your own dedicated server for deathmatch

Server Config

Create a shortcut to sin.exe on your desktop, right-click to properties and in the target field add:

+set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg

Copy the below text from the code box and save into a new notepad file called server.cfg. There are more options but this will do for a start, place into your base folder where your have Sin installed.

Examples:
D:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Sin Gold\base
D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SiN 1\base

The number values and maps can be easily adjusted to your needs, they are your choice.

Make sure the hostport you have chosen is forwarded on your router and that your Sin application is allowed through your firewall, if you do not know how to do port forwarding a great resource to use is Port Forward[www.portforward.com] - By default the port for Sin should be 22450 but this can be changed as long as it matches the port you've opened.

Additional Info

Once your server is up and running you can provide either your public IP for folks to connect with or to make things easier and more memorable you can create a custom address using a Dynamic DNS site like FreeDNS[freedns.afraid.org], No-IP[www.noip.com] and Change IP[www.changeip.com] among many others.
