Chivalry Basic Combat / Adv. Combat Guide

Greetings Recruit !!

I see you are new in this Fight.

So you want to learn how chivalry works aye ?

Well you are at the right place.
(Spend 5 minutes reading this guide, and chivalry will much more fun)

1. Blocking Basics

Blocking is one of the most important Skills in Chivalry. Nobody is immortal, even the Heavy Knight the Tank can die if he dont block.

You want to know how to block properly ?

Press the right mouse button and practice a little bit.

For beginners i would recommend blocking with a shield. ( Much easier in my oppinion)

And watch the stamina bar, if you depleted and get hit while blocking, yarr get a bit dizzy.

2. Blocking adv. training

Now sometimes you will still get damage even when you block ?????

LIAR LIAR !!! BURN HIM AT ONCE !!!

Yes yes, i know calm down.

The best way to do so is to look at the enemy weapon when he attacks.
If the enemy jump and srike from above, look at the enemy weapon and press RMB.
If the enemy attack from the right side, look t it and press RMB.

Another vital essence to blockng is youre movement. Dont stand still and play like a rock.
Move dat Armour , and always keep youre enemy in front of you.

Timing is very important

Blocking with an shield is not so hard.
But with a weapon it will take some time to master.

Dont block too late or too early, otherwise the block will fail.

Watch the enemy carefully and time youre blocks.

3. Attacking Basics

There are 3 ways to hurt youre enemies :-)

Swing, stab and overhead.

Swing is good to hit several enemies.
Stab has the most reach and is a good way to keep the enemie at range.
Overhad is hard to hit but do the most damage.

(All this Attack Types different from Weapon type see Advc...)

And watch the stamina bar.

Every attack cost some stamina and if you out off it , you will have a bad time....

4. Attacking adv. training

You want to kill an enemy who is always dodging or blocking ?

Find a weak spot and attack him.

If you have and Spartan with a big shield in front of you try to hit him when you see an open spot.
An open spot is like when you come very close to him , and see his right or left shoulder.

Another way is to wait until he do a mistake or he run out of stamina.

One of my favorite moves is just to kick the s%it out off them.
Press the F button, to do an shield bash or an kick. (Unblockable attack)
The damage is kinda low, but the enemy is a little bit stunned after you hit him.

In this stun time , you should attack him right after you kicked/bashed him.

Furthermore , hold the F button longer to do a strong Kick

Weapon Types Damage

With Spears, you do the most damage while stabing !
Hammers and Maces do the most damage with overhead !

Well i never understand that but swing attacks are effective aswell , but i never really payed attention how much damage they do. ( It kills the enemy, its enough) :-)

Moving is also very important !!!!

A good warrior always moves and never stands still.

Use everthing to give you an advantage, corners, open field, high places.

You should lure youre enemy to an place where you feel comfortable ( when its possible) !!

5. Teamfights

You see 1 enemy and 1 ally fighting.
You want to help him but if you do wrong you can hit youre ally even kill him.

First of all take a good positions try to stay beside youre ally.
If youre ally is full of blood and got low HP , stand in front of him so he get some rest.

Engage the enemy and show him you dont let him get youre ally !!!

Then if you attack the enemy dont press LMB.
I know its very easy to hit and really helpful to fight off big crowd but please !!!!! DONT !!!!!.

The swing attack is the best way to hurt or kill youre teammates !!!

In teamfights always stab or overhead , and swing when you are 100 % sure you wont hit an ally.

Watch the fight closely and if you cant attack wait for a better moment.
Try to harmony with youre ally and always keep an eye on the enemy.



And again the movement in chivalry is vital !!

Never start an attack if an ally is in front in you, move a bit and find a better place.

I know a good score and many kills look good, but to win as a team feels so much better.

And like i say, what can be more epic then holding off 4 men just with 1 mate,
because both of you paying attention to the fight.

I disagree, blocking with a shield is HARDER than with a weapon. You can be kicked which is hard to avoid if you block badly with a shield (like 95% of the MW community who havent played DW)
