Setting up the Source SDK & base mod
Make sure you have the latest Source SDK installed (steam/steamapps/common/source SDK)
- uninstall any old Source SDK versions first
- install Source SDK via library / tools
- install Source sdk base 2007, run it once so it's converted to steampipe

Once the download is finished; start the Source SDK
- select engine version "Source Engine 2007"
- click on "create a mod"
- select "modify Half-Life 2 Single Player"
- select a directory
- enter the mod name "Propper"
- click next and wait for the process to finish

When the mod files are done installing
- open the file gameinfo.txt "steam/steamapps/sourcemods/propper/gameinfo.txt"
- change the SteamAppId to 218
- save and close the file
Download and install Propper
Download Propper 0.310 here: http://www.moddb.com/downloads/start/31927

- extract the files and copy propper.fgd and propper.exe to

"steam/steamapps/common/sourceSDK/bin/source2007/bin/"

- launch Source SDK hammer with the propper config
- in hammer go to tools/options to open the configure hammer menu

1) select Propper from the configuration dropdown list

2) add the propper.fgd to the Game Data Files

"$SteamUserDir\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin\propper.fgd"

- click OK and restart hammer
Compile setting in hammer
- run hammer and press F9
- click on the expert button

1) click on edit -> new and name it "propper" -> click close -> select propper from the configurations dropdown list

2) click the new button and check the black checkbox

3) type propper in the field

4) click the cmd button and select executable, browse to propper.exe

"Steam\steamapps\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin\propper.exe"

5) type "-game $gamedir $path\$file" in the paremeters window

That's all, if you followed the guide, you should have a working Propper configuration!

For some reason, when I import the model into a different version of Hammer (in my case, the TF2 Hammer editor located in Team Fortress 2\bin\hammer.exe), the model appears with error textures and when I try to compile it, it fails to load the vertex data. I would really appreciate if someone told me how to fix this. Thanks!:csgoanarchist:

extract the css materials folder from the vpk with GCFscape http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26

then copy past that into the propper mod, respecting the folder hierarchy from the css vpk.

How do you get css textures to work?

Great work!

A couple things....

Calling the mod "Propper" generates confusion, because you refer to "Propper" and the reader has to figure out whether you're talking about Propper the tool or Propper the mod. Better to tell them to name the mod "PropperShop" or something like that.
