Update - Development Blog
What is Grow?

Grow is a new take on the multiplayer combat genre! Transform on-the-fly into unique characters and battle it out in this online, team-based brawler.

Key Features
  • Wild third-person combat
  • 10 playable characters each with unique abilities
  • Scavenge for food and chow down in order to Grow stronger
  • Help your team mates by regurgitating food for them to eat
  • Online play with support for dedicated servers and lan
  • 3 game modes at launch with more on the way
  • On going developer support to make sure Grow stays fresh and fun

How does it work?

Every player starts the game as a newly hatched 'Nom'. By scavenging food around the level you can grow into unique and powerful creatures. What you eat changes what you become and what you become vastly impacts the way you play.

After Nom has managed to eat some food he can Grow into a more powerful or versatile character. Some excel at swimming and underwater combat, whilst others sink to the bottom and need to come up for air. Some characters eat enemies whole while others support the team using projectile healing goop. Some can set up tiny turrets or become a powerful turret themselves, others can shoot poison smokescreens and lay down traps. It's not just abilities that change, characters move differently: running at high speeds and up walls, sliding across the ground and flopping into water or shaking the ground with massive, powerful stomps.

Teamwork plays an important role in Grow. Many abilities can be used to support your team mates. Teams that help their baby Noms' find and eat food will be at an advantage. Players can even ride on bigger characters' backs get around faster. Nobody is gonna pick on Nom if he has a massive Grumble backing him up!

Game Modes at launch
  • Capture The Egg Our own take on the tried and true CTF mode but with a number of unique twists. Grow character carry the egg (or flag) in their mouth and can spit it to team mates or into their nest to score goals. This makes for a crazy battle.
  • Brawl Fight to the finish in this every-creature-for-itself melee.
  • Golden Idol whoever gets the golden fruit first becomes the near-invincible god creature! The rest of the team defends the golden monster from enemy attacks as it plods forward to smash the enemy idol.

For now we are targetting PC as our primary platform, but we would absolutely love to bring Grow to as many OSs as possible. We are looking in to linux, SteamOS and consoles.

Hey, are the developers still here? I was wondering, is the game still on the go? Since there haven't been any news since last summer, I'm a bit worried, but since there hasn't been any official annoucement since then... I was just wondering if you were still working on that or if this project has been cancelled. If so, it'd be sad, it looks fun :/

And here I am again...... Looking at the unchanged Greenlight page, wishing for news to come..... And now I am thinking "Why hasnt anything happend yet" and I look at the latest post from the devs, and sighs as I realise that this brilliant idea, never came to reality..... Or well it did, but it didnt Grow....
