Planned updates
  • update the infested and corpus faction sections
  • possibly add how damage is calculated
Recent updates:
1/28/2015:
It's been quite awhile since I've updated, please forgive me.
  • Updated and cleaned up status effect section
  • Updated the faction charts
  • Updated the Grineer faction section
  • Added Corrupted and Tenno sections along with charts
3/10/2014:
  • Updated/cleaned the Status Effect section for clarity and accuracy
  • removed J3-Golem
  • made sections for the charts alone for quick and easy access "___ Faction Chart"
12/21/2013:
  • All faction weakness and resistance values have been added
  • the Enemy weaknesses section has been deleted because it isn't relevant anymore until further confirmation
  • added an important note to the status effect chances: it is based on each individual weapon

Physical Damage
Physical Damage is separated into 3 categories:
    Impact
    Puncture
    Slash

Each weapon's damage is a combination of all 3.
Weapon Damage = (Impact + Puncture + Slash)
Elemental Damage
Elemental Damage can be added on top of the Physical Damage. Some rare weapons can only have Elemental Damage.

The 4 primary elements are as follows:
    Heat
    Cold
    Electric
    Toxin

These elements can be combined to give off different effects! This is done by combining 2 primary elemental types

Combined Elemental Types:[/u]

    Blast = (Fire + Cold)
    Gas = (Fire + Toxin)
    Radiation = (Fire + Electricity)
    Magnetic = (Cold + Electricity)
    Viral = (Cold + Toxin)
    Corrosive = (Electricity + Toxin)

Elemental Combinations work off a Mod Placement Hierarchy. The hierarchy is from closest top left (first to be considered) to closest to bottom right (last to be considered).

If the mods are placed as Cold, Toxin, Fire, and, Electric (in this exact order) it would be calculated as (Cold + Toxin), (Fire + Electric).
Status Effects
Important:There is only a CHANCE of these effects taking place, based on the individual weapon's "status chance" statistic.
Status Effect is also known as PROC (Programmed Random OCurrance)

All damage has a chance to inflict a status effect on a target, including the player. Meaning, enemies' damage output has a chance to give you a negative status effects:

Statuses

Physical Damage
Impact: Stagger
Puncture: Weakened (damage debuff)
Slash: Bleed (health damage over time [DoT], healing blocked)

Elemental Damage
Fire: Ignited (fire DoT, panic)
Cold: Slowed
Electric: Chain Electricity Damage, stun
Toxin: Poison DoT to health.

Combined Elemental
Blast: Knockdown in area (AoE)
Gas: Poison AoE
Radiation: Confusion (difficulties targeting; they are more likely to shoot their allies), reduced accuracy
Magnetic: Reduced shield, energy drain
Viral: Sickened (reduced max health)
Corrosive: Reduced armour

Green numbers are for weaknesses and Red is for resistances
Corrupted Faction Weaknesses & Resistances
The Corrupted are just controlled units from the 3 main enemy factions found in the game, however, the only difference between their regular counterparts is their look. That means they still retain their individual weaknesses and resistances. Their only unique units are the Orokin Drone, that acts exactly like a Shield Osprey, and Corrupted Vor.

Corrupted Faction Chart
Green numbers are for weaknesses, Red is resistances
Tenno Faction Weaknesses & Resistances
Digital Extremes didn't give the Tenno anything unique of their own and just use the values of the other factions.

Flesh: Applies to all Warframes, Specter, and the Stalker. Mostly damaged by Infested
Ferrite Armour: Applies to Rhino's Iron Skin, Specters
Alloy Armour: Applies to all Warframes and the Stalker. Mostly damaged by Corpus
Shield: Applies to all Warframes, Specters. Mostly damaged by Grineer
Proto Shield: Exlcusive to the Stalker
Tenno Faction Chart
Green numbers are for weaknesses, Red is resistances
Conclusion
Different enemy types have different weaknesses and resistances, one type of mod may not be as effective as another, depending on the enemy.

The best way to do maximum damage is to plan and be prepared by knowing your enemy.

@CanofSpam4u.

Thanks I appreciate that! I admit that it's a bit outdated I'm afraid. I haven't been keeping up with the updates with Warframe for awhile and there hasn't really been much interest (from what I noticed anyway) in the guide so I haven't bothered to update it.

i think this is the best damage guide for warframe. the charts are really helpful.

@Friday the Thirteenth
The Corrupted enemies are the same as their regular counterparts. The only difference is their look, the values should be the same. I haven't created a specific section for the Corrupted for that reason and there hasn't been any interest until now.

You're missing the Corrupted damage values for the void

I decided to delete this comment because it was irrelevant to the content of this guide and was more of a comment on the entire game and free-to-play game systems; in short it was unhelpful[/b]

@Satsujinki J3-Golem is indeed not available at the moment. However they have yet to announce if he will be back or not. I will assume he has the same resistances and will remain on the list for now until they release more information and/or a large amount of time has passed. Thanks for the comment!
Satsujinki Feb 2, 2014 @ 9:17pm
J3-Golem is not there anymore and moved to new place and fix his new resistance until later update.
