Quick Guide to Modding C&C3: TW (Windows 7)
This quick guide will walk you through how to enable mods for the Steam version of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars on Windows 7.
  • First, you'll need to be able to extract .rar files, so you'll need to download an extractor, such as 7zip[www.7-zip.org], to be able to do so[www.howtogeek.com].
  • Next, under C:\Users\You\Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars, create a folder named “mods” without quotes.
  • Now, we need to be able to bring up the launcher. Normally, it just launches right to the game, but in order to use mods, we need the games launcher. To do this, go to your games library, and right click Tiberium Wars and select Properties, click on Set Launch Options.. and type "-ui" without quotes. and click OK.
  • Once you've downloaded your mod, you'll need to extract the contents to the mods folder you created earlier, if it's a .rar file. If the mod is an .exe, just choose to install it in the mods folder, and it should do the rest for you.
  • Now you're going to make one last folder, but in a hidden folder, which is why we enabled them in the first place. The files that will go here, in C:\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars, are simply Skirmish/MP maps. In this folder, create another named "Maps", without quotes again. Make sure the maps are made for Tiberium Wars, and not Kanes Wrath. KW maps most likely won't work in TW, but TW maps can work in KW, due to it being an expansion, so feel free to install those in KW as well, if you have it.
  • Now to actually play your installed mods, we need to bring up the launcher you set up earlier. Just click to play the game from your library, and it should come up. Now, click on Game Browser, and click "Mods", simply select the mod you want to play, and hit launch.
  • If your mods installed correctly, you'll now be able to play and enjoy them!

you need to go to documents and then C&C if C&C dose not pop up like what happened to me i just took a picture and it pop up then press C&C in documents then if you do not see a mods folder make one put the mod in that folder and you should be good. "right click Tiberium Wars and select Properties, click on Set Launch Options.. and type "-ui" without quotes. and click OK." ( do this on steam ) "Now, click on Game Browser, and click "Mods", simply select the mod you want to play, and hit launch." ( then it should work

I want to ask why my game browser can't enter the game, whether it's the original or mod

I wish they enabled workshop support for this and Kane's Wrath. Would make this much easier for us.

I followed every step and it still doesn't show up when i click mods on the game browser. It shows the replay i made right before to make a file in the replay section but if i click mods nothing shows up.

@shaunyB did you make a folder for the mod you're downloading? Example: for the Crossfire mod, you don't just put the mod's files into the mod folder, you need to make a Crossfire folder in the mod folder.

Just to clarify the Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars folder won't be created in the documents folder when you play the game normally. Save games and maps are stored elsewhere.
So you can either create it yourself or save a replay (just start then quit a skirmish and then click save replay). If you do it the second way it will create the C&C folder with a subfolder called replays.
Create the "mod" folder next to this. Then inside this folder paste the folder for the mod you want. Not a zip and not the individual files but the folder with the mod name e.g CNC3Original.
