How to:
By default, Assetto Corsa requires DirectX 10.1 or DirectX 11, and those who attempt to play the game on a DirectX 10 GPU such as NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 will simply get an error message noting that only GPUs with DX10.1 support are capable of handling the game.

However, the game is playable on DirectX 10 with a simple tweak on one of its files. Here's how.

1.
Go to (Your Steam Directory)/steamapps/common/assettocorsa/system/cfg/ and open graphics.ini using notepad. Be aware that the folder you need to open is not the cfg file you find in the game folder right away.

2.
Change 'ALLOW_UNSUPPORTED_DX10=0' near the bottom of the file to 'ALLOW_UNSUPPORTED_DX10=1'.

3.
Head to Options -> Video -> Effects and uncheck 'Enable post-processing effects'.

There are some things to note, however. As the game doesn't officially support DX10, there will be compromises to make:
1.
Trees and crowds will be rendered with huge untransparent 2D boxes around them as shown in this video.
2. There is no option for features such as motion blur or depth of field.

That's the end of this short guide. I hope this helped those with DX10 graphic cards and good luck!
Also, please leave a rating. Knowing how helpful it is really means a lot!

@The_PhuntoBR For online races ACC is better since it has a rating system and competitive servers. Downside is that ACC only features GT3, GT4 and a few cup cars and doesnt have as many tracks as AC. AC is more versatile, has tons of mods and more different classes and street cars. Physics is much better in ACC. I would suggest to get both, since they both have their pros and cons and can be used for different things. AC if you just want to have fun and ACC if you want to be competitive.

I tried to do this, and when i went to press start engine, the game seemed to load fine, but all i got greeted with was pinkish grey screen, it was showing time attack and all the info, but i didn't see the track nor the car, just the pink screen, so i quit the race, and i decided to save the replay to see what would happen. When i played the replay, it loaded as usual, and it again showed the pinkish grey screen and it did show the gear, speed, etc as the game would normally show, just with the pinkish/grey screen.

Could you suggest a fix for this, i've tried every setting possible and to no avail, thx

@SubWoofer In that case, uninstalling and then reinstalling the game may be the go to solution. Other than that, I unfortunately can't help out, especially since I no longer have the crappy system of mine that made me make this guide in the first place.

@haithamalyahmadi Your problem isn't related to this. I had this problem with my new PC. In my case, uninstalling the game and reinstalling helped.
