Trails in the Sky the 3rd Evolution modding guide (voice, character portraits, opening/ending movie)

This guide will walk you through on how to get your game to look and sound more like the evolution titles.

Get Started

The installation of every mod listed is not required, this guide has been written in a manner that allows you to install any mod listed as you wish, in any order that you decide.

Evolution Visuals

Head over to this page[t.co], download the following files and put them into the root directory of Trails in the Sky the 3rd located here steamapps\common\Trails in the Sky the 3rd:

Run these batch files for the following:

• !Install Evo Event Visual Mod.bat
  This will change the event visuals to the ones found in Sora no Kiseki the 3rd Evolution
  
• !Install Evo Portraits for Battles Mod.bat
  Change the battle portraits to the ones found in Sora no Kiseki the 3rd Evolution
  
• !Install Evo Portraits for Dialogue Mod.bat
  Change the dialogue portraits to the ones found in Sora no Kiseki the 3rd Evolution
  
• !Install Evo Status Images Mod.bat
  Change the portraits found on the status page to the ones found in Sora no Kiseki the 3rd Evolution

  This will change the opening video to the one found in Sora no Kiseki the 3rd Evolution
  
• !Install Evo Ending Video Mod.bat
  This will change the ending video to the one found in Sora no Kiseki the 3rd Evolution
  
• !Install Evo Cutscenes Video Mod.bat
  This will replace some event visuals with cutscenes that can be found in Sora no Kiseki the 3rd Evolution
  
  If you are facing black screens during the video playback then you may want to install the Kawaii Codec Pack[haruhichan.com] with the ReClock option checked during installation
  
  

Evolution Voices

Head over to this page[t.co], download the following archives and extract the contents into the root directory of Trails in the Sky the 3rd located here steamapps\common\Trails in the Sky the 3rd:

• The Legend of Heroes - Trails in the Sky the 3rd - Evolution Voices Mod 20180518 Update.zip

Now head over to this page[github.com] and download the latest release of SoraVoice_YYYYMMDD.7z and extract it to the root directory of Trails in the Sky the 3rd located here steamapps\common\Trails in the Sky the 3rd

This will only activate the voice overs for the dialogue

Now head over to this page[t.co], download the following files and place them in the root directory of Trails in the Sky the 3rd located here steamapps\common\Trails in the Sky the 3rd:

• ED6_DT37.dat
  
• ED6_DT37.dir

Now open up Trails in the Sky the 3rd, go to the options menu, hover over Voices and switch over to Japanese. This will enable the Japanese voice overs in battles.

Unfortunately, this portraits are static for these mods. I personally prefer the original Sky portraits as they manage to show more emotion and expression even though they are static.

This is an excellent guide. Everything looks and sounds great. One question though. I noticed that the official evo has animated portraits while the mods here update the portraits but leave them static during dialogue. Did I miss a step or does the modded version not have animated portraits?
