Description


This mod aims to add more realism to combat.
Unlocking attack slots was neccesary, but that is not enough and it didn't felt right, therefore blocking chance and atack chance have been reworked. Skill will be more relevant than ever when being outnumbered, this mod is not intended for new players, it will make combat harder but more rewarding with proper training. To be clear, block and dodge are now crucial, train them and you'll be unstoppable.

Features (short read):

- Unlocks attack slots x3
- Reworked block chance %,
- Reworked attack chance %,
- Adds organ damage to blunt attacks,
- Cuts cause more immediate blood loss
- Changed max and min damage resistance (achieved by leveling toughness)
- Damage resistance from a hit can be random (up to the char max) and will not be always stick to a fix value

Features (long read):

If the attack lvl is equal to your opponents defense lvl then you will have an 85% block chance (70% was vanilla) , every +10 lvl diff you will get 5% extra block chance (10% vanilla) , every -10 lvl diff will lead to a penalizing -15% block chance. Also, if you are +10 attack levels higher you will have 1.75x more attacks than your opponent (1.5x vainilla). That will mean that if you are skilled enough, even outnumbered you can block most hits and get more hits also into the opponents. The max/min damage reduction has been increased to be more dependent on toughness , you can now deduct 85% of the max damage instead of 65% vanilla and the stumble damage is now 120 instead of 80 (vainilla).
Immediate blood loss for cuts has been increased to 0.3 (0.2 vanilla) and now blunt weapons have 0.1 organ damage (0 vainilla), also , damage reduction is not fixed anymore (it is random up to the max/min).

To clarify a bit on blunt weapon organ internal damage:

OrganDamage = BluntDamage * 0.1
OrganStun = BluntDamage * (1 - 0.1)

It was a deactivated mechanic in the game (value=0) which I decided to re-activate, this made sense for blunt weapons, if you get hit by a big mace in the chest (IRL) you will notice the described effects.

Playing a solo character with heavy armour that brings dodge to 0 is impossible if you don't micro manage the character during the fights due to the increased attack slots but it is solvable by using another mod that brings attack slots back to one. I assume this attack slot change feels a lot better if you have a group of fighters but I am not sure if the Phoenix (or another heavy armour wearing boss) will enjoy getting stun locked. Maybe this could be solved by giving Toughness a chance to just ignore light stagger? The other changes done by the mod are very solid, however!

This mod makes solo playthroughs impossible. Any encounter with a group of enemies, even for a fully leveled character, will result in their death, as they will always take hits from unlocked slots and remain on the defensive for the entire fight. Bleeding, especially early in the game, will be so severe that even with stamina below level 40, they simply won't survive, requiring someone else to heal them. Even the strongest armor, acquired by stealing early in the game, won't help against even the weakest bandits with sticks, completely eliminating solo playthroughs and leveling up. For example, playing as a bounty hunter or a lone thief.

Adds organ damage to blunt attacks - not feeling it at all
bleeding becomes annoying as hell
well just the same gameplay but a lot of lying down "bloodloss knockout" ... not my cup of tea(

isn't internal organ damage a scrapped concept that was never really implemented? I don't think organ damage works at all, even if you enable the value.

85% damage reduction for heavy armor is too much??
it should be 100% unless it hits a gap.
armor works. its why humans spent a LOT of time and energy making and wearing it.

Does block chance still have a hard cap? I think in vanilla it's 95% at 20+ difference.
