Description
MASSIVE DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT ENDORSE OF THE VIEWS OF PICKETT OR THE RCAS IN THIS MOD, THE RCAS IS MEANT TO BE AN EVIL FACTION AND ANY ACTUAL RACISTS IN THE COMMENTS WILL BE BANNED WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE

IMPORTANT UPDATE NOTE
The mod now works with the latest version of OWB, but some of the focuses are a bit dry at the moment since we just wanted to release a stop gap update to get the mod working. More interesting content will come eventually, but the mod author is going through a hectic time in real life so it'll probably take a while.

EVER WANTED TO PLAY AS POST APOCALYPTIC AMERICAN DAGOTH-UR? NO? WELL NOW YOU CAN!

Basic Information
The Party Unmourned is a submod for Old World Blues, which is a total conversion for HOI4 that places the game in the setting of the Fallout Series.

TPU adds a new nation to the game known as “The Republic of Confederate American States” or RCAS. The RCAS is an American successor state founded by Casey F. Pickett, who was one of RobCo’s greatest (and THE most eccentric) programmers. An extremist partisan and union boss, he survived the Great War by hiding in a secret bunker in Mount Jefferson and detaching his brain from his body. Acquiring many of the most advanced technologies of the pre-war era, Pickett achieved ‘godhood’ due to his ability to spawn synth bodies for his detached mind to control, a gift he ultimately wants to share with all. Emerging two centuries later, he has taken over the Brightenbush area by impressing the local tribals with his advanced technology and indoctrinating them with his radical views. Pickett and the RCAS has two main goals: Reuniting the American nation under the banner and ideals of the Democratic Party as envisioned by him and taking revenge on everything which he sees as being responsible for the decline of America.

TLDR: Mod adds American Dagoth-Ur, and the Democratic Party goes full Sixth House ITL.

Feature List
• An expansive focus tree with over a hundred focuses for the RCAS. (A work in progress.)
• A rebalance for both the Issaquah Nation and the Cause, including a new faction being formed out of them.
• The leader of the Issaquah Nation, Mother Maria, being implemented into the starting scenario.
• A new ideology added! One other nation, the Cowboys, has it at the start of the game.
• All sorts of events to spice things up.
• You get to play as an All-American Dagoth-Ur. Or, play against him. (The game AI has not been optimized yet.)
• Execute the leaders of other nations in gruesome fashion!
• Extensive lore to explore and plenty of references to find.

How to Install?
• Subscribe to this mod and Old World Blues.
• Ensure that both are fully working and up-to-date.
• Have the mod selected.
• Choose the Republic of Confederate American States. (Or, not.)
• Enjoy

Compatibility
• I have not tried this mod with any other submods for OWB besides Wasteland Economy. But, it shouldn’t be
incompatible with any of them as long as the mod does nothing with the Northwest/Cascadia area.
• This mod is English only. Any translations would have to be fan-made.

FAQ
Q: Isn't the RCAS just a crazier version of the Enclave
A: No, the Enclave is compromised of the Old World's government and corporate elites. Meanwhile, Pickett is distinctly against elitism in any form and is rabidly pro-democratic to the point of advocating something resembling mob-rule. Pickett was part of the opposition to the Old World establishment. Also, the RCAS cares not for how irradiated ones' genes are, only the person's ethnicity. If anything, they have nearly opposite goals aside from American Reunification.

Q: Will the RCAS have a "good" path
A: No, Pickett is meant to be morally dark-gray at best, there are a few focuses that have you ease off the brutality but either way he turns the wasteland into a giant lynch mob

Q: When are the custom focus icons going to be done?
A: The graphic design guy is currently busy so it’ll probably take a while

Q: How many flavor events are there?
A: Unfortunately none, but they will come when the base mod is completely finished.

Q: What’s the ideal way to play the RCAS? They seem to have very little going for them
A: The start requires a lot of micromanagement, which is easy with how few units the RCAS has. I even recommend not even assigning troops into frontlines during early wars. Mobility, encirclements, and seizing victory points is key to winning wars.

Credits
• Someone anonymous made the art of the character.
• The inspiration for the mod came from both the Enclave Reborn and Chihiro in the House.
• Old World Blues itself is made by the Old World Blues Devteam.
• The Steam account which uploaded the mod is not the account of the mod creator but rather a friend.

I wish I could, but the main dev is going through some really bad stuff in his life so the development cycle is pretty boned at the moment.

Could you please give more regular updates on the state of the mod?

It's amazing how *some* people can derive real-life political and social views from a mod developer writing stuff for a FALLOUT GAME... even if they have to read the game code like tea-leaves to do it!

The mod should now work with the latest version of OWB, sorry to all those who were waiting.

how do you ban someone from a workshop mod page?
CEO of Toilet Paper  [author] Jan 1 @ 1:36pm
Because Pickett is stupidly pro-worker along with being stupidly racist so he thinks slave labor dilutes the labor market and screws over white workers. Plus he's racist but not stupid, he saw how well slavery worked out for the CSA and other historical slave societies so he doesn't want to go down that path.

i havent played the mod but why do you keep saying the leader is super racist but also is willing to let anyone vote and has a focus against slavery? aren't those very different from each other?

We decided to get rid of the n-word because in hindsight we realized it went too far, even for being in-character and because we'd rather not get conflated with actual morons and get the mod banned.

Fallout is a game series that often deals with pretty brutal subject matter that's just as awful as this mod but that doesn't mean the devs endorse any of it, it just means they portray it. This mod is the same thing, we just thought it would be an interesting premise to see some nutcase try to make old-world racism a thing again and as a general exploration of how people can be convinced to give up decency in exchange for better living conditions (a lot like Caesar, just racist).

Like do you really think my homie is just some racist who spent a week or so making an entire mod just for edgy racist power fantasy purposes? Who tf does that?

If the actual game contains a faction of slaver rapists larping as Romans, then there can be a faction of racists larping as Americans.

Pickett is very CLEARLY meant to be a charismatic villain like Caesar, the edginess of the focuses and whatnot are to be in-character, not because the dev of the mod (I'm not the dev, I'm just working on flavor events and focus icons, he just had me upload it on his behalf) endorses the views of the mod afaik.

By that logic J.E Sawyer wants to crucify people and have slave concubines and you endorse raiding settlers for shits and giggles.
