Basic Ending Guide

Simple guide to outline the conditions for unlocking all of the endings.

Common Routes

These are the death ends

common i : Fail to get away from Lazarus in the sewers

common ii: At the announcement, side with a faction you don't have a high enough rep with

Randal Routes

randal i: Side with Saorise at the announcement. Requires a high Iscari rep.

randal ii: Side with Andrei at the announcement, but make a deal with Lazarus and let Andrei be killed. Requires a high Golgotha rep.

randal iii: Side with Andrei at the announcement, and allow him to live. Requires a high Golgotha rep.

randal iv: Side with Randal at the announcement. Requires a high Mavvar rep.

randal iv (leader variant): Have a high rep with all factions and choose "my rebellion" during the announcement.

randal v: This is Randal's special end. Complete randal i and randal iv to unlock it, then play through again as a Mavvar. Select the choices highlighted in red.

Heath Routes

heath i: Side with Randal at the announcement. Requires a high Mavvar rep.

heath i (leader variant): Have a high rep with all factions and choose "my rebellion" during the announcement.

heath ii: Side with Saorise at the announcement. Requires a high Iscari rep.

heath iii: Side with Andrei at the announcement. Requires a high Golgotha rep.

heath iv: This is Heath's Special End. Complete heath ii and heath iii to unlock it, then play through again as an Iscari. Select the choices highlighted in red.

Markus Routes

markus i: Side with Randal at the announcement. Requires a high Mavvar rep.

markus i (leader variant): Have a high rep with all factions and choose "my rebellion" during the announcement.

markus ii: Side with Andrei at the announcement. Requires a high Golgotha rep.

markus iii: Side with Saorise at the announcement. Requires a high Iscari rep.

markus iv: This is Markus' Special End. Complete markus iii as well as both Heath's and Randal's Special Ends to unlock it, then play through again as a Golgotha. Select the choices highlighted in red.

Faction Rep Tips

I've had a few people ask me about how to get enough rep for all factions in order to get the leader endings, so I'm going to try and summarize what I did.

Please note that the strategies I list here are not the only way to get these ends, and in some case the MC's personality or house can effect the choices that appear so there may be better choices than I saw when I took these notes.

Choose Your House Wisely: The house you start out with gives a small boost with that house's rep at the beginning of the game. If you find that there's a particular house that you're struggling to earn rep with on one of the routes, try matching their house on a replay.

I personally found that on Randal's route, it was hardest to earn rep with the Golgotha, while on Heath's and Markus' route it was hardest to earn rep with the Mavvar. That said, I was still able to get the leader end on Markus' route by playing a Golgotha, so by no means does your house make or break whether you can reach that end.

Night Out One: recommended visits: Beach House, Saturnalia, Hotel

• Mavvar Rep: Beach House -> Mingle with the other Mavvar -> Warm and Friendly;
  Randal Route Only: Talk to Jack -> "It's not a big deal." -> any choice -> "Sounds like he had it coming."
  
• Golgotha Rep: Saturnalia -> Approach the younger group -> "Er... I've never seen him before in my life" -> "Listen everyone... I know Markus, and this man isn't Markus." -> either choice -> "You have my sympathies."
  
• Iscari Rep: Hotel -> Talk to the Iscari in the lobby -> Jump in and offer my thoughts

Night Out Two: recommended visits: Saturnalia, Beach House

• Mavvar Rep: Randal Route Only: Beach House -> talk to Josquine -> "You're on!" -> "I'll keep it as a momento"
  
• Golgotha Rep: Saturnalia -> Talk to the Patrons -> Do my best to charm them -> fat, lithe or muscular suggestions get a small Gol increase

If you agree to join Andrei, Morgan will approach you and offer to visit the dreams of one of the factions to increase your rep in exchange for you getting her a meeting with him. I strongly recommend agreeing to work with Andrei for this reason.

Night Out Three: recommended visits: Beach House, Saturnalia, Hotel

• Mavvar Rep: Randal Route only: Beach House -> Mingle with the other Mavvar -> Join the storytelling -> about Randal and the hunters
  
• Iscari Rep: Saturnalia -> Talk to the patrons -> suggest the star either join the iscari and stand out, or speak with Saorise;
  Hotel -> Approach the agent -> either polite choice -> "The love you take is equal to the love you make."
  
• Morgan: chose the faction you need the most rep with for her to poke. The increase does not occur until after you've spoken to Andrei about her.

Night Out Four: recommended visits: Beach House, Saturnalia, Hotel

• Mavvar Rep: Beach House -> Mingle with the other Mavvar -> "Sure let's go."
  
• Golgotha Rep: Saturnalia -> Talk to the patrons -> be sympathetic, if you're a Gol, agree to take the drugs with them
  
• Iscari Rep: Hotel -> Approach the woman -> be polite and encouraging, suggest she back off and entice her paramour;
  Abattoir -> Talk to the Iscari -> Dance with them

Night Out Five: recommended visits: Hotel, Graveyard

• Iscari Rep: Hotel -> Talk to the Iscari in the lobby -> Discuss ambitions to lead
  
• Morgan: Visit the Graveyard to fullfil Morgan's deal.

Just in case anyone's having problems getting the special endings, all you need to do is choose the same faction as the your mentor, select every red option, get as much as possible rep with your faction, and (not really sure, but it works) be as much intolerant you can be with the other factions.

Is there ANY way to keep Lazarus alive?
I LOVE Lazarus! I was so sad about the way it ended when I played the game. 😭

And does "Marcus (leader variant)" mean the end has Marcus as a leader as an option?

I keep my fingers crossed for that (or at least that Marcus and I will rule together or something), but I really got the sad ending for him this round. *Sigh* And NO epilogue after 3 years pass!!! 😭

I guess I have to figure out how to get the rep with all the factions and see, but I really hope there is a choice where he can stay with you and rule the city.

(Also... Marcus would be an absolutely hilarious leader! I can't tell if the world would end up like in Mad Max, or if he put everyone in mandatory school classes, or something else entirely. xD )

I never learned about his past either. Which is also sad.

@Squiddles It's been forever so you've probably already done it, but for anyone else who needs answer to this question, you need to have a very, very high Mavvar rep or it won't work. Go to the Beach House at every opportunity and jerk them off a bit. You'll know you're on track if, just before the green-haired Iscari and Mavvar go to attack you with the humans, you'll get new dialogue about something about Randal "changing"

I've played through Randal's route trying to get his special end a bunch of times, making sure to choose every red option and making sure not to accept a deal with Andrei, but I still haven't gotten his special end. Any tips or known bugs I should know about??

i don't know what i'm doing wrong but i got Iscari rep just abit over half way [because i wanted that end with Heath] and i got shot!? i even checked here to make sure i han't missed any chances for some rep ... is it because i picked the 'leader' options from the iscari agent and randal that i got shot? if i try to increase the iscar-rep without picking those options does anyone know if you still get shot?
