Infinity-Gaming Zamorian Thief Armor Color Update

Description
Makes the Zamorian Thief Armor set much easier to color. This means that the colors will show more vibrantly, and all pieces of the armor are colorable except the lining on the hood.

Notes:
- This modifies some textures and tint masks for this armor set. Any other mod that modifies this may alter the looks.

- This uses a mod controller to merge EquipmentVariationTable, for updating the dye flags on the zamorian female armor.

I'll setup a github repo for this project and some destructions on how this mod was done, for anyone else who may want to learn.

I'd like to 2nd Kieran's post. I do like the aesthetic of this armor but never use it because the majority of the armor cannot be dyed.

Thank you very much for the mod. I really love it. I'd like to ask though whether you could extend this to the male version, because I use it both for my female character and for thralls on my male character, and in the case of the latter always have to change his gender to female and back when I want to dye the armor. If there is an easier way to solve this, I'm happy with that too of course. :steamhappy:

Would this happen to be compatible with mods that er, hehe, 'skimpify' the zamorian armor? I mean, if another mod modifies the mesh to the armor, will this work with it or maybe not? Just curious, as I'm keenly interested in having the dye channels set up like you have here :)

speculation
Tint masks typically pack various masks into one texture, into the red, green, blue and alpha channels. This is to save on memory/computer/cycles/etc. Each channel represents a different dye slot in the game. So max dye areas you can have is 4 (RGBA). Now since the gold has a special shine to it, we loose one channel. (most likely how it's being done). So the hood can only have 3 max dye areas. This extra channel is probably used in the shader to apply the shine. (a fairly common practice)

This way when the lightmap is applied, the tint mask has already taken care of the special stuff. As lightmaps vary environmentally and there are many different environments in this game.

Non-tech answer
By design. Usually decided up front for immersion purposes. So that everything from the environment, clothes, props, structures, etc all look like they belong together.

Tech-ish answer
In the case of the hood lining, it's the way the tint mask and diffuse texture was created for the hood. I assume without looking too closely, it's because the lining is supposed to look like gold beads. Gold has a shine to it.

Many Conan assets use a tint mask / diffuse texture combination. When using a tint mask / diffuse texture combo, the diffuse texture is in greyscale. This is used to calculate how colour is applied.

I assume by looking at the diffuse texture and how the gold is coloured on it, the shader probably recognizes that as a golden colour range. (apply shine and other gold like stuff) As the gold in this diffuse texture is not greyscale.

There are many attire items not yet dyeable in the game. Like the eye patch. Or the lining on the hood... Why isn't the hood lining able to be dyed?
