Release date: Fall 2013
"...the thing that keeps me coming back is the sense that I’m traveling through someone else’s very specific creative impulses. It's a feeling that's all too rare in playing video games." - Evan Narcisse, Kotaku

"...The late Roger Ebert famously questioned the ability of the video game to ponder great questions about the human condition without becoming a mere ghost of existing text based forms. A uniquely involving and often wryly funny meditation on human tolerance and difference, this game answers the question implicit in Ebert's statement: what can a video game say that other forms of art cannot? A landmark in app design and an indication of the medium's emerging maturity, Demon Chic deserves to be experienced by every iPad owner with an open mind." -

"As wildly imaginative and trippy as Demon Chic looks and pretty much is, there's a very real base of ideas that ground it in matters of reality that very few games have dared to go near. It's alternative voices telling their tales, their struggles, and those dream sequences do a wonderful job of illustrating them..." - Chris Priestman, IndieStatik

"Demon Chic" is an RPG game about three broke people in modern times dealing with real-people issues rarely touched upon in gaming - mental illness, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, suicide, and drug policy - but with a focus on empathy, compassion, and personal autonomy, all set to a soundtrack of bangin' hip-hop beats and stoner-rock grooves. Gary Starling, his boyfriend Ashok, and Ashok’s brother Devraj live together and just try to have normal lives and get high a bunch but are constantly interrupted by their various hallucinations, ranging from demonic policemen and three-eyed goat-women to giant babies and old men's heads.

This is a game where you will see people act realistically human and talk about their feelings only to be interrupted seconds later by a four-headed brontosaurus barbershop quartet who may or may not exist; it is a game with an entire level based around the protagonist grappling with his erectile dysfunction in an honest and human way; it is a game where broke kids smoke weed with griffins.

The game uses a mixture of the formal tropes of video games and sitcoms to frame the characters’ daily lives and internal struggles, as the game alternates between a JRPG-ish mode (with comic-book-style art and action-RPG battles) and an assortment of surreal interludes in wildly varying art/interaction styles that reflect the characters’ internal feelings, dreams, and fears.
