Description of Mod

Version 1.2.8

Mod id: 1759544356

Sandstorm Extended is a mod that gives admin's more control over the Sandstorm frequency and the damage taken from the storm. In addition, the Sandstorm becomes more dangerous than ever due to added routes that have been added throughout the desert region. By default, there is only 1 main path the Sandstorm takes. We've added 4 additional routes in addition to the vanilla path. All 5 routes are chosen at random and can come from virtually every direction.

Allows admins to set custom interval times for the Sandstorm Event.
Allows admins to set custom damage taken from the Sandstorm.
Allows admins to set a custom damage taken from the Sandstorm while protected by a mask etc.
Allows admins to force a Sandstorm to start (if not already running).
Adds additional routes to the sandstorm.
Allows admins to choose which routes to enable.

Experimental Features:

Allows admins to set the percentage of shelter needed to be protected from the sandstorm.
Allows admins to enable monster spawning features.
Allows admins to set monster spawn chance.
Allows admins to set the amount of NPC's can spawn per player.
Allows admins to enter a list of NPC's that can be spawned inside a sandstorm, these can be from WeightedDataTable, SpawnDataTable and should be separated with a comma.
Allows admins to disable journey steps from sandstorm spawned NPC's to prevent journey steps such as "Slaying a Dragon" being awarded.
Allows admins to force sandstorm spawned NPC's into a special community to prevent them from being hostile with each other.

Admin Commands

Mod configuration can be accessed via Mod Control Panel (requires admin rights).

Min/Max are the times the sandstorm will be allowed to start (in seconds).
For example, if min = 600, max = 1200, the sandstorm will start at some point between 10 and 20 minutes (60*10=600 = 10 minutes, 60*20=1200 = 20 minutes).
The time between min/max will be randomly chosen for each sandstorm.

If the sandstorm is still running while the next timer fires, it will be skipped, and you will need to wait for the next timer to fire!

Please note, admin server changes to the buff configurable options will not take affect while a player is affected by the sandstorm buff. The buff changes will be applied the next time the player has the buff refreshed on the character.

If you need additional information in-game, there is a "Click for Help" menu option available on the admin menu. There is also some additional information available if you hover mouse over each admin option.

Mod Compatibility

This mod directly edits and is therefore incompatible with any other mod that edits the following blueprints
  • BP_AC_SandstormController.uasset
  • BP_AC_SandStorm_Damage

This mod is compatible with its sister mod, SnowstormEX. It is highly encouraged to use both as it makes the Exile Lands more exciting and dangerous than ever. Link to that mod is here.

Hello. Sorry but I'm not very good at it. I don't understand how Pippi can give me he data table name that a mod uses.
hades  [author] May 16 @ 3:02pm

Yes you can use NPC's from other mods, you need to use the data table name for an NPC, I'm not sure if the games default admin span menu displays the NPC data table name (I think it does), but pippi NPC spawn options display the correct info.

I might release an MCP widget to list all usable NPC's for admins at some point, but I've got my mods in maintenance mode and just concentrating on keeping them working with current patches so I don't know if this is something i'll get around to.

SIDE NOTE: If any admins are willing to fund development I could add a full list of NPC's so you just need to check a few checkbox's, but honestly it's an easy thing to figure out so it's probably not needed (in my opinion), it would take me around 2 hours to and fully test so I think £40 would be enough, but again I don't think this is needed (or it would already be in the mod).

Hello. How does an admin create a list and/or find available NPC lists somewhere? Can NPCs contained in another mod appear during the Sandstorm? Thank you

The section on "Admin Commands" explains how.

how do i open this

@Viper/Lone Wolf Lazarus "RA Visuals" has now been updated and should no longer cause an issue =)

PS: cleaning comments section again lol

oh, cool hades thanks. So, would moving your mod to the bottom of the load order perhaps help? Also, simply to get the journey step done, would it be a workaround to walk the character from the desert spawn northwards within the session causing the flag to change, then I could force a sandstorm?
hades  [author] Feb 5 @ 6:19pm
@Viper It's not SandstormEx that is bugged, either of 2 things are might be happening.

1. you admin tp out of the spawn area preventing the HasCrossedDesert flag to be set.
2. another mod is out of date or patching in an old blueprint, possibly BasePlayerChar which causes the HasCrossedDesert check to always return false.

"Lone Wolf Lazarus" is having the same issue with another mod breaking the sandstorm, sadly there will be quite a few mods in the workshop that will do this, I think it's related to other mods overriding BasePlayerChar.

sandstorms stopped happening entirely on our server, even when I hit Force Start. It'll say it's currently running but never actually happens.

Mod doesn't have a setting for that.
