Extra Street Connexions for Stations - SPQR

Inserts extra street connexions (if you want them) on longer stations. Very good if you have mods that give you bigger and longer stations!

Especially good if you want to set up an industrial hub! (See images)

I've described some of my other mods - the ones with buildings in theme - as "ugly hacks." This is not an ugly hack. This is an elegant hack.

I designed it to work with both vanilla stations and especially with Klamann's Bigger Stations.

It should play nice with most mods that change (or replace) the vanilla stations... if you have any crashes, let me know which station mods you use!

I've made sure it works with curved stations and sloping stations, WHICH IS TO SAY that if you add a curve or a slope, it will DEACTIVATE the extra streets.
I mean, c'mon, this was already pretty difficult to do in the first place.

I'm currently playtesting it. I expect to find more bugs but it needs to run for a while which is why I'm putting it up.


Activate the extra streets by selecting the "extra" option under "second street connection."

@gamebori yup this version is still pretty buggy. I'm currently working out if it's possible to make it compatible with curved and sloped stations using this approach - still not sure it will be.

It looks like some capitalization in filenames don't match the files which makes the mod fail on case sensitive filesystems (basically everything except Windows).
The game wouldn't start until I renamed XStreetUtils.lua to xStreetUtils.lua, but after activating the mod there were still some more errors.

@glenn52 thanks for letting me know... I'm rebuilding this mod at the moment, trying to make it play nice with curved stations. It's an effing nightmare so I'm very happy to deal with a simple issue like that!

@SoftwareSimian thanks for saying that. Here's the thing: I love programming. I especially love scripting. But there's a good reason why when I worked in software, I designed solutions that were implemented by other people. My code is buggy, overcomplicated, and often contains unnecessary features. Over the last couple of weeks I've released 4 new mods and I wasn't at all surprised to discover that the most notably bug was a conflict between two of my own mods!

At some point - when I have the next couple of mod ideas out of my system, and I've finished debugging the others - I'll come back to this one. I realized while I was writing it that making it work with slopes is pretty straightforward but I thought I'd at least try to keep it simple . I don't know if I can make it work with curves... but I'll look into it, I expect.

Your mod already has extra streets on terminal stations so that's a bonus feature over Flexible Train Stations (which currently only supports through stations).

@SoftwareSimian exactly. I built it because I don't use Flexible Train Stations because I find it somewhat demanding to use. And I also build it because I like learning how to make stuff. And in the event that I make something that works (sometimes I do) I share it.

So, kind of like the additional streets on Flexible Train Stations , minus the ability to control them individually, and doesn't work with curves or slopes?
