Starlit [Reassembly Remastered Balance]

Description
The Starlit once lived a quiet life around a dim star, unnoticed by the rest of the galaxy. From their secluded corner of the galaxy, they watched civilizations rise and fall, the birth and death of stars. ... but, in the end, they couldn't just watch from the sidelines forever. When the day came that their star finally started fading away, they finally made their decision. Using the magic they learned over the eons, they reignited fragments of the star, building ships of crystal around them. They revealed themselves to the civilizations they grew alongside so long ago, carving out a small territory for themselves near the galaxy's center.

As a faction, the Starlit's greatest strength is their adaptability. Their modular cannons can replicate a wide variety of cannon types and are only limited by the amount of power a ship can produce. However, in exchange for this flexibility, their weapons are generally somewhat less efficient than equivalent weapons from a conventional faction.

To use their modular cannons, connect cannons to booster shards using conductive hull. Most of their cost is from the generators needed to power them, and this is the main thing limiting how strong your cannons can be. The bullet spread, damage and fire rate boosters do not affect the power efficiency of the cannon bases, while the range, bullet velocity and explosion radius boosters decrease it compared to an unboosted cannon.

This mod is designed to be used with the Reassembly Remastered mod by Flypaste. However, it is playable without it, and should be reasonably balanced against the unmodified original factions.

That is a shame. Would save a lot of frames...

Reassembly doesn't support that. rip

That makes sense.
Btw, i never found a mod with weapon mods that has beam weapons. is there a reason for that?

Yeah, the cannon boosts multiply power usage, so it can take exponential amounts of power if you put in too many. I don't think there's any way to tell how much power you need except calculating it by hand, unfortunately. (but that also goes for Tinkrell)

Each cannon base uses power equal to 5P worth of generators, so multiply that by the power multipliers for each cannon boost has to figure out how many generators you need.

The way the mod is balanced, 95%+ of the power cost for weapons is in the generators needed to power them, not the boosters/cannons themselves. So it's pretty easy to make 100P cannons that you need literally a billion Ps worth of generators to power.

yeah that happened to me as well without even the use of a P unlocker
Rokonuxa Apr 5, 2019 @ 8:28am
Nevermind, I severely underestimated the power use

I can sometimes not fire at all, even with just one cannon. Is something there, that blocks too big/powerful ships?
I am using an

unlocking mod, so it has quite a few expensive parts.
