Badmoon Bog

Seeking shelter from the approaching darkness and the monsters lurking in the wilderness, you have arrived at a desolate cabin in the middle of a water-filled bog. Not everything is at it seems however, as you will soon want to get out of the swamps as soon as possible...welcome to Badmoon Bog, where men are driven mad by spirits.

Badmoon Bog is an experimental, unique mix of adventure, horror and typical Sam gameplay, for a primarily singleplayer experience, although it can be played in co op as well (not recommended for large amounts of players though).

Gameplay elements include:

* Adjusted speed - due to rough terrain and water, all player and enemy movement is slowed down.
* Narration - you'll comment various discoveries throughout the play
* Two maps, based on cycle of day, with very different gameplay
* Heavy use of custom sound effects and ambient sound to create athmosphere.
* Gameplay time of roughly half an hour at best, depending on how long you explore and stuff. It's not super long, and not intended to be.

Requires Jewel of the Nile DLC to play. No other resources are needed!
Default color scheme and sound settings are recommended. Also recommended to turn off some of the sillier mods you may have if you want to stay true to the mood of the map.

Кратко о компашке: увидел дом на болоте, вошел в дом на болоте, вышел из дома на болоте, увидел засаду, загасил засаду, ушел.

Вот и сказочке конец, а кто читал, тот молодец :з

A pretty bad campaign.
The idea is interesting, but the execution is bad.

First of all, the character's lines are written exactly like the narration, which makes the whole thing confusing, as it jumps from "You wake up." to "I don't understand what's going on!". This is bad but luckily easy to fix, you just have to add quotes to make it obvious it's the character speaking, not the narration.
Second, you're trying to make something spooky, right? Why have the character joke if you're trying to be spooky? Nothing ruins the mood faster than the character randomly throwing a joke.
Third, the map is too small. In Serious Sam, you run around the map while constantly shooting. In these maps, you just stand in one place and shoot at the respawning enemies.
Fourth, enemies are respawning a bit too much. This is a bad decision, and it's also frustrating, because there's no sense of progression.
Fifth, you shouldn't use Painkiller music in a Serious Sam game.

When I did the video, I hooked up a 2nd monitor to my pc, set the game to borderless window, and extended the window to fill both screens, worked perfectly for Horizontal split-screen.

Glad you like it, the narration is in English only for all players and this is the case for nearly every mod out there anyway (most mappers don't really want to bother translating stuff to a million languages). :P I don't know about the best split screen view as I've never played it split screen myself, I hope it works all right though, cause there have been some reports of splitscreen not working correctly in SS3 with custom maps.

Wow, very nice mod!
Thanks for it :)

Just one thing: are the narration sentences words from the main game? And if so, will it be in the language I have the game stted?

Also, I'm going to play it in Split Screen with another player, and how do you reccomend to split the monitor? Vertically so we have the right speed of movements and FOV or the other way? Thanks.
