IMPORTANT RECENT NEWS

10/27/2020

Mod works fine with 2.0 + without me needing to do an update.

I will do a recompile anyways when I'm able to.

Also, my computer crashed. I am unable to do ANY mod updates for an undetermined amount of time.

Communication

Due to the upcoming release of Conan Exiles on Epic Games Store, we are moving all communication to Discord as a centralized platform. While we will do our best to monitor Steam for comments, you stand a far greater chance of being heard on Discord.

Finally, all bug reports must be done on Discord. No bug report submitted as a comment will be processed on Steam. Steam simply doesn't have the software necessary for the exchange of information needed for a proper bug report to be done.

This mod is only to be used with Less Building Placement Restrictions. If you are not using LBPR, DO NOT use this mod.

What this mod does is that it fixes it so you cannot place fish traps in any areas that are NOT water. LBPR has had a bug that lets you place Fish Traps anywhere (as seen in the screenshot), and this mod fixes that problem. If you are wondering why I made a separate mod for this, it's because I used to have several versions of LBPR and it was best for flexibility. Since Toggles were added, I thought it best to just keep it separate as it wouldn't be needed if certain Toggles are off.

What's more, what's nice with LBPR is you may unsub to it at any time and not lose anything. That is not the case with this mod. You would lose all your fish and shell traps the moment it was removed.

Mod Compatibility

As I said in the description above, the only reason you should be using this mod is if you are using LBPR
Compatibility with Stack Mods

Due to how modding works in Conan Exiles, this mod is NOT compatible with most stack mods. In this case, both my mod and data table based stack mods require editing the same row in the same data table, and a rule of 1 applies. It's whoever loads last wins.

The one and only stack mod that does it differently, and will work with this mod, is Testerle's Stacksize Plus.

Unsubbing

Likely, the only reason you would want to unsub from this mod is because you no longer wanted to use LBPR (don't worry, I'm only sobbing huge crocodile tears over it). If that's the case, out of the box you will lose all Fish or Shell traps you built from the moment you subscribed to this mod. Thanks to the mod author Sunday, and my partner in crime Leeux, we have a little script you can run to tell the game to swap out my modded traps with vanilla ones. Here's the instructions:
  1. Download the script from here[drive.google.com]

  2. Move the script into your Server Saved folder, or your Single Player Saved folder.

Note: You want to make sure your Server is shut down or Single Player exited before running this script

  3. Run the script

  4. Remove LBPR, as well as this mod

Update Policy

Conan Exiles, as with many other games with mod support, can sometimes suffer from when mod authors decide to no longer update or abandon their mods. Since April of 2018, I have maintained that I will always keep my mods updated and available, and I do take that responsibility seriously.

Along with that commitment, is my desire to grow and improve all my mods. Sometimes my vision differs from the players that use my mods, and sometimes changes are done because of player input. Inevitably, an update will eventually come for one of my's mod whenever necessary, whether that is bug fixes, improvements, or new features. What is unexpected is the volume of negative comments that I receive with every update.

Here is my update policy. The world is a 24 hour world, and when I update a mod, it may not match when your server happens to restart. I cannot control that, everybody has different update schedules. Neither am I able to control when you receive a mismatch error, or have issues downloading the mod. Mod authors have NO CONTROL when issues between you, Steam, or your server occur. At the top of this workshop page is the most common troubleshooting steps I can suggest you try, but outside of that, I cannot provide any further support.

I am committed to making my mods the best that they can be. But I need you to also be on board with helping me achieve those goals, and to be flexible whenever a mod update is planned. Please keep this in mind when leaving feedback.
