Vandeanson's Apocalypse

Welcome to Vandeanson’s Apocalypse!

Vandeanson’s Apocalypse
or VA is a highly adjustable, dynamic site and event spawner framework that spices up every mission you create or play by adding sites of interests, events, enemies, survival elements and loot to your world.

VA is not a MISSION but a mod that runs on top of any mission you play.

Bleeding | Zombie Infection |
| Dynamic Loot Economy | One Off World Loot Spawner | 5% chance that Ravage Zombies drop items/food | Health Regeneration | Temperature (WIP) | Magazine Repacking

Trader Camps | Bandit Camps | Hideouts | Shipwrecks | Crashsites | AI Patrols | AI Stalkers | Animal Spawner | Boat Spawner | Helicopter Spawner | Plane Spawner | Feral and Patrol Dogs | DBO Horses Spawner

- place persistent player caches to store loot
- place persistent tents
- place persistent barricades
- place persistent ladders
- materials and blueprints (WIP)
- add any classname you want to the building menue (accessed by pressing "T"):

(in initplayerlocal.sqf)
sleep 10;
VABB_ObjectsBP pushback "classname"; or
VABB_ObjectsBP append ["classname1","classname2","classname3"];

VA is now compatible with inidb2 persistency. Reconnecting players can continue to play where and in what state they have left.

Player: Position, Direction, Health, Loadout, Ravage Hunger/Thirst, VA Blood state, VA Bleeding state, VA Infection state are saved.
The Ravage stats save has no effect if Ravage or the Ravage Survival Module is not active.
Dependency: To save player data and basebuilding objects, the Dedicated Server/Hosted MP host must have the inidb2 mod activated. (Clients don't need this/it should have no effect)

Subscribe to INIDB2 by Code34:

Note: Add a local INIDB2 copy to your launcher (for Hosted MP Hosts) or your Dedicated Server, dedicated to the current mission/server, else you will load in player saves from previous missions/server setups.

- Automated loot arrays based on active mods with customisation options and connected to loot economy (player/AI gear and lootspawns in buildings and lootcrates). VA categorizes loot into military and civilian grade loot.
Military loot will only spawn at military sites.

- tons of settings to adjust or disable nearly every aspect of this mod

This mod requires only CBA_A3.

Ravage Mod
Has been the inspiration for the VA mod, hence VA is made with Ravage in mind.

There is however no dependency, you can use the mod with or without Ravage.

- Subscribe to VA and activate the Mod in your A3 Launcher.

- Subscribe to
and activate the Mod in your A3 Launcher.

- (Optional)
CUP Terrain - Core

- (Optional)
Ravage Mod
Needed for the Trader Camp and the Z Infection.

- Start your mission, VA will start spawning in its FEATURES according to the default settings.

Customize VA Settings
1. Open a new or existing mission in the A3 Eden Editor.

2. Open - > Settings - > Addon Options -> Vandeanson’s Apocalypse (various sub-menus).

3. Adjust the settings to your liking (you may save your preferred settings to easily copy for another project

(press save within the CBA_A3 settings menu).

-> Make your changes under the SERVER tab and click the checkboxes to overwrite MISSION and CLIENT. This will block other players to change settings in MP and it will align the settings.

4. Save your mission in the Eden Editor. Your current settings are saved to this mission now

5. Further adjust your mission or start to play

6. To test the VA settings, you can activate ZEUS support and Debug Markers under the “Vandeanson’s Apocalypse - General” settings. Then place the ZEUS Gamemaster module in the editor and assign it to your player.

Dedicated Servers
Adjust your VA settings for your Dedicated Server: Settings can be exported using the export function of the CBA Settings menue and be pasted into an optional file in the userconfig folder. The filepath is Arma 3\userconfig\cba_settings.sqf, where "Arma 3" is the games installation folder.
This works for a dedicated server as well as the clients, but requires the -filePatching startup parameter.

just wanted to let you know some very tiny cosmetical issues concerning loot from buildings while playing your mod with ravage mod. Two of them come across them consistently.

- rifle flashlight rifle attachments have no function. Cant be equipped at all.
- weapon suppressor for 7.62 mm spawns very often in all camos, but I cannot find any other.

@everyone VA 3.0 alpha devlog stream #10 is heating up - tune in:
Vandeanson  [author] Jun 24 @ 4:26am
I am planning another VA 3.0 alpha devlog session tonight where we bury our teeth into the eat/drink/cook/hunt aspects of the survival system and try and iron out anything that may break the feature. YT link will follow later tonight,
planned stream from 9.45pm - 11pm CET.

hi pyro, this is a feature coming in the VA 3.0 overhaul. you will be able to customize your loot system quite a bit, imcluding lootable objects. va in steam does not have this, that might be ravage for you for now
PyroNage Jun 23 @ 11:24am
Hey quick question, How do i add an object to the list of objects to be considered as "lootable." I'm playing on a custom map and want the static clutter included in the mod, for example a wrecked vehicle placed in the map, to be lootable.
deadorbit Jun 20 @ 10:05pm
I added the line to disable it on a file that gets executed a bit after the mission loads and that seems to have fixed it, thank you for your help and thanks for the awesome mod!
