A way for Keyboard + Mouse to work!

DMC 3/4 Are honestly to me, poor ports that have quite horrid controls. I needed a way for it to work with a mouse + keyboard correctly and has a good feel to it, like the newer DmC did. Luckily, I was able to find a way to do just that and had a much better experience with these games for the PC port.

Introduction

If you're like me and love the Devil May Cry series, and love PC gaming but are extremely disappointed with the port and the rather awful controls, then fear no more! There is a way to change the controls to what you would like it to be, and even have mouse support! However, there is a drawback along with the mouse control. Unlike DmC Devil May Cry, you can't rotate the camera with the mouse, so you'll have to use the arrow keys. But I hardly had an issue with that, but it's just warning. ~

Instructions/Explanations

The first thing you'll need to do is download this
http://www.autohotkey.com/

Once it's done and installed, follow these steps.

1. Go to your desktop
2. Right click and go to new. Then select a new AutoHotKey Script
3 Name it whatever you like.
4. Right click, and click Edit Script
5. Paste this info below in the file and save it, it's my personal button settings, and they work best for me.

Once that's all done save it and just launch the game and double click the hotkey icon you saved on your desktop and go back to your game. Should be running in the background and work just fine.

Test those out and see how you like them.

I'll explain what does what.

L Mouse = Attack with swords/weapons

R Mouse = Fires guns

M Mouse = Nero's Devil Bringer/Special attack

WASD = Movement

Space = Jump

Shift = Lock on

M = Taunt

N = Devil Trigger

E = Switch Firearms

Q = Switch Weapons

Ending/Q&A Section

And that's about all the main things you'll need to know. The game is much better with these controls for me and hopefully will help out others. :3

Q: Does this work with DMC3?

A: Yes it does! I had the same issue, and this works just fine. However, you'll need to switch the left and right mouse keys with eachother, unless you prefer to shoot with left and hit with right.

Q: I'm getting this error every so often "Maxkeyinterval" or something of that nature that will alt+tab my game, is there a way around that?

A: Yes! With Devil May Cry, you'll obviously be spamming your attack and jump and movement keys and AutoHotKey will have a limit to that per minute or so, if you want to change that just right click your script, and click edit.
An example of changing your MaxKeyInterval is like this


#MaxHotkeysPerInterval 155555

Paste that within your script, or whatever number you want. I just make an outrageous number so it most likely won't pop up ever. Obviously this can work with other scripts as well. ~

Q: I tried the CTRL+ALT+DELETE Trick trying to close the script, it's a pain. Any way around that?

A: Indeed, after awhile I found out that I can use a command to close it right away.

key::ExitApp Copy that and paste it in the script.

The "key" part of that is what you want to close the script. So an example of what I have is
NumLock::ExitApp

So whenever the script is open and I press that, the script closes automatically, for a quick rage quit awesome button!

this is only initially, maybe if i dont like i will change some butons, but is a way to start.

I play ultra street fighter 4 and mk9 on numpad, its the only way i can play, i dont know why.

I am very desperate and i wish you can help me please :)

Hello. I'm a Brazilian guy and i saw your publication on how to play with mouse and keyboard on devil may cry 4 and I needed your help. Sorry for my bad english, i will try my best. My problem is i like to play numlock butons to atach and other things, but its no possible to set a key to num lock butons on devil may cry 4 Special edition, and i tried too much things, but without success like xpader vjoy, ppjoy, and i having problems whit autohotkey, he dont work in the game but works off him, if you help me i will be like much thanks to you, i wana play so much devil may cry 4 special edition in a comfortable way.

And again, sorry for my bad english. :(

RB should be lock on if you're evading, so it technically should be Shift on the Keyboard using this script.
So holding shift then using the A/D keys plus the Jump button in order to roll/evade out of the way.

I have a problem... When I try to play the tutorial, at some point, it says press RB(from xBox) and LS+A(from xBox) to dodge or evade, something like that...
What is RB on Keyboard?

Good to have this option.
But even with this, playing without a controller is suicide. Controller is preferrable all the way.
