DataDir and AppDir try to find an Electronic Arts folder and there simply isn't one (Folder A and this part only applies if you're using the Steam version) instead the file path would most likely look something like this
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Spore\Data
For DataDir
I really, really urge you to learn what a file path is, if you do that then you will be able to easily understand why it is you're still getting the 1004 error
If you right click on Spore in your library and go to properties > local files > browse local files and look at the heading of the window, that is the path that you need to put in the registry and just tack \Data to the end of it
