A short time ago, White Giant RPG Studios was comprised of just four friends plus some college buddies who helped with game concepts, testing, algorithm development, and the Strategy Guide. Now – thanks to generous support from the gaming community – we have contracted with impressive composers (plus 30 artists) for Last Dream II music, we have two accomplished graphic artists producing new content, our Game Testing Network has expanded to 14 capable individuals, and we have additional funds to support new software purchases, licensing, and web hosting. We love our fans!

Game Overview

Experience a highly non-linear RPG from an independent development studio with a sprawling storyline commencing with a modest protagonist, lost in an unfamiliar world... As you struggle to find a way back home, you uncover an increasingly malevolent and time-twisted plot to devour the ancient creatures of Terra. You must confront this corrupted power to save Terra and ultimately, yourself.

We began developing Last Dream in April 2011 to be the central element of our decades-running annual Tournament among physics graduates. Hence, we started with the sole desire to craft an enduring game that we would personally enjoy.

As Last Dream progressed and over 50 creative individuals became involved, we realized that other people might enjoy our game as well. Now, after spending thousands of dollars of our own money and investing thousands of collective hours in game development and testing, we are ready to make the final push toward distribution.

Our development team is comprised of people who deeply cherish the RPGs of our childhoods.
  • Andrew Walker, PhD: Passionate head programmer, prolific documentarian, and manager of the game testing network.

  • Josh Mellon: Spearheads legal and financial matters, chief editor, and detail-oriented game tester.

  • Mark Cope: Graphic designer and industrious, deeply-experienced focus group of ONE.

  • Alex White: Professional website developer and serial entrepreneur.

Game Features

Choose from 8 specialized character classes to form your 4-person party; each class contains a wide diversity of skills that you can unlock throughout your game, and you can build each character's attributes as you see fit. The result is a strikingly different experience every time you play Last Dream.

The selectable difficulty levels offer first time players an edge or an engaging challenge to the most hardcore gamers. You can also select your desired encounter rate and saving opportunities.

Last Dream also offers over an hour of intriguing cutscenes that shed light on the complex history of planet Terra. Alternatively, you are free to decline these cutscenes for a more streamlined experience.

Sophisticated puzzles are a fundamental aspect of Last Dream, ranging from very easy to highly challenging.

It looks very much like an older Final Fantasy game, and I ove Final Fantsay; so I will be keeping a very close eye on this game

@Neo NiGHTS ® - Wow, you're awesome - thanks for taking the time to so thoroughly comment on Last Dream. Yes, as soon as we get Steam keys, you will be one of the first to get one (and once you load your save file into Steam, your in-game Achievements will be recorded in the Steam Achievement system, as well as in the Steam Leaderboards). Many of your excellent suggestions have been discussed by our team in the past, and at times we felt stymied by technical hurdles; however, I (the Chief Writer) have just asked the Chief Developer to review each issue and see what improvements we can make in Last Dream 2 (currently in development). I will send you an itemized response on your Discussion topic.

Hey! I've left my opinions here on a topic titled "Suggestions for an eventual Steam release!" (I'd made it at first when just started playing, but I've added another post with all my suggestions and thoughts. Be sure to read there and give me a heads up when you do, please! Thanks!)

When will it be available through steam?
info  [author] Feb 12, 2014 @ 1:58pm
@Neo NiGHTS ® - Absolutely, we enthusiastically welcome your input, particularly given the time-investment you have made in playing Last Dream. Hundreds of players have generously shared their insights with us on our forum [], via Kickstarter , or here on Steam. We are applying the vast majority of these recommendations to Last Dream 2. Also, you can always reach us at Thank you!

Hey, guys! I'm just wondering.... are you still open for comments and constructive criticism? I've been playing for 20+ hours so far and although the general feeling is really good, I feel that some thing could be ironed out a little.
Thanks for your attention and success on your Steam release!

Good question. We have modified Last Dream to work within Steam's coding system, created Steam Achievements and Trading Cards, conducted testing, and completed our Steam storefront. Recently, we notified Steam that Last Dream is ready for final review. We expect that we will hear from them soon, and we will post to this Comments section as soon as we have a release date. Thanks, as always, for your interest.

I don't know if this has been asked or answered already but when do yo think the game can be released on Steam?

@UltimateFantasy - Thank you for your thoughtful look into our Development Team. We returned the favor and checked out your impressive game, The Meridian Shard. We discovered a game with picturesque graphic art, compelling music, and polished text. Most stunning to us is that you appear to be working largely alone! We are happy to pledge $29 CAN to your Kickstarter campaign:

I took the time to check-out all the info and some videos before making my observations in a public post. So here it is: You guys are doing great work and are obviously so damned passionate about making games that it brings a tear to an indie dev's eye. I see that you are also planning to introduce more original art/graphics and assets, which is key to really creating something familiar yet remarkabley original. I think you'll all do well with this and you have top marks for communicating so well with your players/fans and even those with hate in their hearts. Best of luck. I just upvoted this, even though it's already greenlit. Come and say hi when you get a chance at
