This mod may be incompatible with mods that override the HUD class, but it can be loaded in any order.

  • Adds health and torpor bars to dinos.
  • Additional information displayed: gender icon, dino name, level, diet icon (herbivore/carnivore/piscivore), living environment icon (water/land/air/amphibious).
  • The background color of the level box indicates whether the dino is wild (yellow), tamed (green) or a boss (red).
  • Adjustable view distance, display size, number formats and opacity.
  • Saves and restores modified user settings for the next session.

Keyboard shortcuts
[Alt] + [F5] or just [F5]: Displays the settings window. (F5 can be changed)

[Alt] + [F6]: Toggle bars for wild dinos.
[Alt] + [F7]: Toggle bars for tamed dinos.
[Alt] + [F8]: Toggle minimalistic mode.

[Alt] + [Numpad -]: Decrease the size of all bars by 10% to a minimum of 30%.
[Alt] + [Numpad +]: Increase the size of all bars by 10% to a maximum of 300%.
[Alt] + [Numpad /]: Decrease the display distance by 1000 to a minimum of 1000.
[Alt] + [Numpad *]: Increase the display distance by 1000 to a maximum of 10,000.

[Alt] + [Numpad 0]: Toggle filtering
[Alt] + [Numpad 1-9]: Toggle filter group 1-9

@jolinah, Hi Bro!, you have an awesome mod! i would like to talk with you because i have done one mod that replace the icons of single stats hud of the players and dinos, but need to be first placement for the files core, so i would be understand how you have done this mod hud clean and stackable. thank you in advance :)

I can't load Primitive Plus with this mod. The game goes into battleye download loop. What should I do?

Steam member for nearly 8 years, never once commented on anything on the workshop, but this mod? Dude, its amazing, simple and clean. Please dont let it fall out of development. Its exactly what a noobie player like me needs :)

my bars are very offset they are more like floating somwhere around the creature than on it

Ok, so as far as I could figure out, I had the auto run hotkey as numpad /, and without pressing ALT it was decreasing the view distance (I also couldn't increase the distance, even with holding ALT and * ?) So there's that, I suppose!

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. I am using the player UI/HUD. For each dino in a certain radius around the player I calculate whether that dino is in front of the player and visible on the screen and not occluded by a wall etc.. If it is visible I track whether a widget has already been added to the HUD for that specific dino. If not, one will be added. Also: If a dino becomes invisible but there is a widget in the HUD, the widget will be removed from the HUD. Each widget is linked to the dino it represents. For each active widget in the HUD all the values like health/torpor etc. are fetched each frame from the linked dino and the UI elements are updated. Also the position, scale, z order and opacity of the widget has to be calculated. World coordinates are transformed to screen coordinates by using functions of the Unreal Engine / ARK Editor. I've been developing small games as a hobby for years and even for me it was not that easy. Maybe I will make it open source soon, anyway ;)
