Report a translation problem
First, make sure you actually own the original Portal. Especially because were going to be ripping textures from the games files. Then, make sure you get GCFScape. It's going to allow us to open VPK files, which hold all the materials for Valve's games. I'm also going to assume that you know how to navigate to a games folder for this comment.
In Portal's files, go to the portal folder. You should see 7 VPK files. Open the one that says portal_pak_dir. From there, go into the materials folder, find the texture's you want, and extract both the .VMT and .VTF versions.
From there, your "done"! I mean, unless you were like me and had some on the textures you imported overwritten by Portal 2's textures. This is because they have the same name. In that case, download VTFEdit, as it's going to help out a bunch when changing the names of the textures. If you have any questions, just let me know!
