Bastion Won't Start?
By Jeonsa
Bastion seems to be misbehaving and not starting in Steam for Mac users. I'll help you. :)

How to find the application...
*Press the desktop/background so your toolbar is normal.

1. Click on "Go" then press the alt/option key on your keyboard.
2. Click on "Library".
3. Open "Application Support".
4. Open "Steam" then "SteamApps".
5. Go into "common", this is where all your Steam game folders will be stored.
6. Then open "Bastion" (or any other game you wish to play).
7. There's the game!

One thing to know, your Steam achievements cannot be unlocked playing like this.
Hopefully they will fix this issue. :)
Solution (comment by @ABoxOfCheese)
A recent comment by @ABoxOfCheese: "If you have the icon saved on your macbar, you can start it off steam and get achievement. Just dont open it directly from the macbar."

IT WORKS.

1. So do the steps I've listed above, but instead of launching from Finder, drag the game icon to your taskbar.
2. Do everything else as normal (play from Steam, yada yada).

What happens, at least for me, is that you get a quick window (from steam) "preparing to launch..." in this case, its the Bastion game. The window disappears under a second later and the game doesn't launch.

btw it happens on linux too. Most annoying. And for other games.

Play from Steam (at least for now, on Mavericks) still launches corrupted version anyway, independently if there is an icon in Dock (taskbar/macbar means Dock, right?) or not. If you start playing from the icon/shortcut in Dock itself, and then press "Play" in Steam, it does not counts neither playing time nor achievements.

It doesn't work for me atm. I redownloaded the game before I read this guide. Then, I followed the instructions (also got it on my external drive) and put it on my Dock, tried opening it, it just bounced once and then nothing happens. Running it from steam doesn't do anything, but other games like GMod or FTL work. Halp?

@Raepinu Could you tell me what it does when you start the game? Also tell me what you're doing to start the game, through Steam, through an alias, etc. thanks.
