Introduction
This is a simple, easy-to-follow, spoiler-free guide, designed to give you solid playthroughs that will award all achievements. Additionally if you'd prefer to just read the game like a book, this guide should help you to have a fun playthrough with a cohesive character and story.

Please note that the choices must, almost without exception, be taken as they're listed here - deviating from the path I've provided will usually mess something up further down the line as there's plenty of hidden stat gains / minuses / checks. I've done my best to note where you can [Choose Any] option, though, so you have a bit of flexibility.

The first playthrough, Champion, is the 'best'. Our hero is brave noble and works tirelessly in the service of others. Note that two runs of this playthrough are required to receive all achievements - Ultimate Refusal / Divine Intervention and Resurrect the Dead cannot be received in the same playthrough. Achievements included in this run are:
  • Defeat Boar
  • Defend your Village
  • War Patronage
  • Defeat the Dweller
  • Victory in Kaval Canyon
  • Defeat the Keeper
  • Refused All Gifts
  • Escape from the Tide Caves
  • Defeat the Priests
  • Daggoras Destroyed
  • Destiny Saved
  • Survive Underworld
  • Ultimate Refusal
  • Resurrect the Dead
  • Reject Love
  • Divine Intervention
  • Champion of the Gods
The second playthrough, Deceiver, is rather the opposite - we will mislead and trick the gods at every opportunity. It includes the achievements:
  • Defeat Boar
  • Love Patronage
  • Defy Love
  • Defeat the Dweller
  • Victory in Kaval Canyon
  • Defeat the Keeper
  • Escape from the Tide Caves
  • Defeat the Priests
  • Merciful Victory
  • Destiny Collapses
  • Survive Underworld
  • Most Romantic Partners
  • Deceiver of the Gods
The third and final playthrough, Scourge, bears similarity to the second run but our character is wholly driven by their desire to destroy destiny, in open rebellion to the gods. Its achievements are:
  • Defeat Boar
  • Defend your Village
  • War Patronage
  • Defeat the Dweller
  • Victory in Kaval Canyon
  • Defeat the Keeper
  • Receive the Silken Cord
  • Escape from the Tide Caves
  • Defeat the Priests
  • Destiny Destroyed
  • Join Forces with Daggoras
  • Survive Underworld
  • Scourge of the Gods
Disclaimer: This guide was produced using the Steam version of the book. If you have thoughts, questions or other feedback, please just leave a comment.
Champion One - The Call of Destiny
Stomp back to my mat and pretend to obey my father.

[Choose Gender]

…to tell [gender] the truth about my presentiment of danger.

…I must prove my father wrong for underestimating his [gender].

…intrigued!

[Choose Name]

…strong enough to snap off the boar's tusks, one by one.

Thrust the broken tusk into the beast's skull, killing it.

[Achievement: Defeat Boar]

Perhaps my father is embarrassed that a child like me has done what he could not?

…disappointed that my own father did not share in my friends' enthusiasm.

…no concern of mine at the moment. I must focus on my lessons.

…I am sure those who think Megridos / Mogaria / Mogaris is a witch are merely unaccustomed to [gender] ways.

Admit that many of my friends are quite frightened of [gender].

[Choose Any]

"I merely did what was necessary for our village's protection."

[Choose Any]

Give [gender] my hand.

I should face my fears! I will make the cut myself.

"Because I am only sixteen, and power is not wisdom. There is much I have left to learn."

I am more difficult to hurt than most.

I seek neither ardor nor companionship.

Hethika should stop horsing around and focus on [gender] work.

Set our visitor at ease by showing deference to him.

…devotion, for I truly love the gods and all their works.

…impossibly far into the Epsikos Hills.

Knock the thief unconscious with a well-placed punch!

…I make short work of the thief with his own dagger.

"Enough talk! I must protect our people!"

I plow forward with merciless thrusts, cutting my enemies to pieces.

[Achievement: Defend your Village]

"Stop in the name of Hsonus, blasphemer!"

Thank [gender] for saving my [gender].

[Choose Any]

I tell him that I will gladly accept a position as a sentinel.

Champion Three - The Prophecy
[Choose Any]

How grateful I am, to have grown up as her [gender].

…we are so different from each other.

"Indeed, your place is here."

"If it be the will of the gods, I must go where I am called."

Note: Ask all questions. Do NOT choose "I learned all I needed to know back in our village." or "I know all that I need to know."

"It sounds as though these corrupt mortals well deserved such a fate."

"You were brave to do so."

Send my spear soaring at the approaching rider.

Ride ahead and throw my sword at the fleeing bandit.

"I only did what I felt was necessary to protect us."

"Of course. To do otherwise would offend the gods."

Ignore [gender]. [Gender] must learn to live without me.

Perhaps mortals were not meant to have certain knowledge.

[Choose Any]

"Fear not. The Weavers will protect us."

…and if it be my destiny to rid the world of abominations like [gender], I am proud to accept it.

[Choose Any]

"I have never seen anything like it!"

Daggoras alone is to blame.

"I am not, Megridos / Mogaria / Mogaris. But there is nothing to be done about it now."

[Choose Any]

…that Travan / Nouralah / Kalaste and I are sure to be fast friends, but nothing more.

Drop down and roll as [gender] draws near, and then jab [gender] from behind.

[Choose Any]

Bury a javelin in [gender] chest.

I have made the world a safer place.

"Greetings, Cephiel. Am I again called to the service of the gods?"

"And how can I be of service?"

"What I must do now, I will do for all of us."

"How will I make my way to the Chamber of the Weavers?"

"Your generosity is overwhelming, Merena."

Attack Daggoras with my sword, forcing him backward into the ichor of death.

Kill Daggoras.

[Achievement: Defeat Boar]

Perhaps my father is embarrassed that a child like me has done what he could not?

…powerful indeed, and ready to reap the rewards of such power.

Scourge Six - The Enemy Returns
"I am a mighty hunter of the Northern Lands! I pity this poor witch for crossing my path."

…yet I am uneasy at the thought of having been destined to be their destroyer.

[Choose Any]

"Only three rooms? Why not a wing?"

My destiny is to blame.

"Merely tired, old friend."

"Those who cross me will know defeat, that much is certain."

…a [gender] of military bearing, with eyes of penetrating intensity. [Gender] wears ceremonial armor.

"If [gender] speaks to you that way, hit [gender] in the face, as I will, when next [gender] speaks so to me."

…that Travan / Nouralah / Kalaste and I are sure to be fast friends, but nothing more.

Drop down and roll as they draw near, and then jab them from behind.

Roll left to escape from the inexorable advance of the shield.

Truly, the Weavers want nothing more than to make fools of all mortals; love is only another of their tools.

"I will gladly show these fools to their deaths!"

"Thank you, friend. But I well recall my training."

"…that we have few riders equipped for mounted combat."

We will break through first! Our skirmishers will pelt the enemy line with stones, to weaken their defenses.

Order our riders to confront the invaders at our flank.

[Achievement: Victory in Kaval Canyon]

"No thanks to you."

Behead Hethika with my sword as [gender] lands on my mount.

This was a tragic, but necessary act.

[Choose Any]

…but what else are the gods hiding?

"Yes, let us begin. We cannot allow such sacrilege to stain our honor."

"Those Temach fools made it easy for me to do you honor in this way."

Refuse the ring politely.

I wish to know whether destiny truly can be destroyed, as Daggoras hopes.

I had hoped for a longer rest before my destiny carried me away again.

"Never. Do you mean to say that you are in love?"

[Choose Any]

"I am heartened that you recognize my greatness."

…stealthy maneuvers: maneuvers that rely on silence and subterfuge.

"Trust in the gods! Faith in their guidance will give you the strength to carry on!"

…we are in great danger.

[Choose Any]

Subtly gesture for the unaffected sailors to sneak with you into the woods, to escape the creature's influence.

"Kionus / Kiana / Kion, you are a lazy fool unworthy of your position in my crew! Arise, you pathetic worm!"

Warn them not to let the cruel Weavers subject them to this fate.

…to sneak between the columns in a surprise attack on [Villain].

[Achievement: Defeat the Keeper]

…I must likewise bury it if I am to respect the rites of my people.

"I am ashamed that my own failure has caused this tragedy…"

I will never forgive the Weavers for this.

Daggoras has given me compelling reasons to mistrust the gods. Perhaps I should do as he says.

…the gods are every bit as corrupt as the mortals of the First Age.

No. It may be useful to hide these feelings from the gods.

Agree to wear the silken cord.

[Achievement: Receive the Silken Cord]
Scourge Eight - Minodia
Mock the fearfulness of the Minodians, who hide themselves within this gated city.

Convince the citizens that you have seven more boats of warriors on the way, and that their city will soon fall.

"Always, my friend!"

[Choose Any]

Feint as it attacks, and drive my sword into its hide!

Threaten [gender] to get [gender] to tell me the location of the warships.

Slip unseen onto the boat and pull away.

Dodge its attacks, and then steal the chance to kill it with a throw of my spear.

Dodge the beast's attacks, and hack at its heads with my sword!

[Achievement: Defeat the Priests]

"I am glad to aid you in the destruction of this unholy place."

…and may the gods be cursed forever taking it away from them.

[Choose Any]

…I pity them for having a blood-bond with those cruel beings on high.

Scourge Nine - The Fate of Destiny
I only hope that the Weavers have nothing more in store for the people of Kelinos.

"Would you come so far for the [gender] you love to betray [gender] out of cowardice?"

[Choose Any]

"Greetings, Cephiel. Am I again called to the service of the gods?"

"And how can I be of service?"

"Would that these gods shared the fate of the vestiges."

"Have I only been chosen for this mission because you fear your own kingdom?"

"Your generosity is overwhelming, Merena."

I dread that I will one day come to be imprisoned in this place.

[Choose Any]

Tell Daggoras that I too wish to destroy destiny.

Kill one of the Weavers, just as Daggoras asks.

Work with my new ally Daggoras to kill the rest of the Weavers.

@bb would you please do the sequel of this, I would really appreciate it and could you also do lords of infinity. I like following your guides because I have a hard time deciding what choices to make. And again, I'd be very grateful! Thanks in advance!

Hey! I haven't read the sequel so don't know much about it. I looked around and this thread is probably your best bet:

https://forum.choiceofgames.com/t/exile-of-the-gods-wield-the-chains-of-destiny-or-shatter-them/59713

There's a few bits of discussion on how best to progress past certain points, plus obviously the opportunity for further discussion. Hope you find what you seek!

Hello. I was wondering if there is a guide to the sequel, Exile of the Gods. I thought there was, but I can't find it.

thanks for the guide, though in part one and two, you pick resistance, but never use it, why not pick what you do use, to be less... sucky, and lose some things just to get points in it?
For instance, in deceiver, you pick resistance, but never pick a single option that uses resistance, instead you do strength and speed options, why not just pick speed and then strength?

On the other side, using your guide I finally got the last five achievements, so thanks.:tgrin:

There's a combination of factors involved - just follow the Deceiver path along.
Snowskeeper 15 Jul, 2019 @ 12:59pm
How'd you get strength that high, out of curiosity?
bb  [author] 15 Jul, 2019 @ 5:08am
I just ran through the Deceiver path and it works perfectly. Attributes:

Resilience: 60%
Strength: 77%
Speed: 89%

All I can say for certain is that on the Deceiver path, I didn't have enough strength to chuck the god of chaos into the weave at the end. I think I made some minor changes along the way, though, so I might just not have grown enough to make that work.
