LB&SCR B1 Class 0-4-2

This is a model of the London Brighton and South Coast railway B1 Class engine, designed by William Stroudley for express passenger roles, and one of his last designs before his death. An evolution of the D2 Lyons class and Richmond class 0-4-2s, the B1 was a larger, more powerful engine that replaced his earlier G-class 2-2-2 engines on heavier expresses.

For transparency purposes, the textures are a modification of the vanilla game's A3 textures.

Comes complete with aging, tinting, logo support and a reversed version.

Available: 1882-1933
Lifespan: 40 years
Top Speed: 96 kph
Weight: 64T
Power: 500kW
Tractive Effort: 58kN

Like my mods? Then please consider sending a small donation to show your appreciation at - by no means should you feel obligated in any way to do so, but every little bit helps with various bills and living expenses and whatnot (and I'm sure you can appreciate, it can be tough to make ends meet!). Any money goes towards essentially helping me produce more models of better quality, and more quickly and efficiently. But, like I said, please by no means should you feel obligated to do so.

UPDATE: Kind of doing a massive batch of updates, so please see here for information:

UPDATE: Fixes to the mesh and textures so the file is generally smaller and will look a bit nicer - particularly the reflection on surfaces like the boiler.

Also new smoke emitters - If you're already running these engines in game, just send them to a depot and back out again to activate the new smoke emitters.

UPDATE: Quick quality control pass; cleaning up the folder, using dds files to reduce file size and making some minor model changes.

once you've finished all of the LB&SCR or LNWR trains could you make the Caledonian Railway 439 class? i would like to see one in game,
its just a suggestion and you don't need to do anything

UPDATE: I've just made some minor adjustments to weight and tractive effort to bring it in line with some well-sourced values I've discovered. Top speed has also been adjusted slightly - partially to help increase differentiation between the G, D2 and B1 locomotives, while also trying to keep gameplay and balance in relation to other mods.

@Bocaan: I listed what I have planned below in the first comment. I have no plans to make any of those things at this stage.

@SteveM4: I had to look it up first xP Yeah go for it, I don't plan on making it. After the C1 and the D1 I don't know what I'll make at this point - I might go back and make some carriages in all honesty, there's a compartment style carriage that keeps catching my eye.

any plans on the LB&SCR E4 class i think that is the class thomas the tank engine was based off and if you do could i do a possible repaint im no modeller or atelast i dont know where to get started lol ive asked around it seems no one wants to help much anyway enough of that just wondering if it might be possible for the E4 tank to be made and if so if i can do a repaint i plan to recreate the entire serise locomotives as the LB&SCR K2 class is edward :) and the flying scotsman loco from the vanilla game without the smoke deflectors is gordon i guess in a pinch the NER A1 loco on steam is henry the J7 steam tram is toby

so as you can see i have idea's just permissions to start

I must ask before I go stepping on your toes, because lets be fair, you do the better models.

Do you have plans for a Drummond T9 'Greyhound'? I have been looking to attempt one however if you have one planned I'll go do some other obscure engine.

Just as a quick note, but I'm starting a new job tomorrow, so my next planned engine will probably take a little longer anyway after the flurry of this weekend.

For transparency purposes, I plan on making a LB&SCR C/C1 class 0-6-0, and a D1 0-4-2T before moving on to something new (I'm mostly making these engines because they all share very similar dimensions and features, making them comparatively easy to produce), but they won't be for at least another week or two in all likelihood.
