RPG Style Inventory

This mod replaces the vanilla Gear tab UI with an RPG style inventory screen. It also displays small icons denoting if the apparel was worn by a corpse or was forced to wear.

!!! I (Ashen) take no credit for this mod at all. The original author is Sandy, and I received permission from them to upload this mod to the workshop so more people could see it. !!!

If you find any bugs or have suggestions, you should put them on the Ludeon page instead of here because Sandy is more active there.

Ludeon Forums page: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=46728.0
Github page (Previous versions of the mod can be found here): https://github.com/SandyTheGreat/-1.0-RPG-Style-Inventory-V3.0-/releases

Load order probably should not matter since there aren't any dependencies. (Except for with Combat Extended)

There shouldn't be any problems with adding this mod to a saved game since the changes introduced are visual.

From the Ludeon page:

This mod replaces the vanilla Gear tab UI with an RPG style inventory screen. It also displays small icons denoting if the apparel was worn by a corpse or was forced to wear.

It's just an UI mod. You can add/remove it from existing saves without issues.

Added Features
- Added color-coding to identify item's quality
Legendary - Orange
Masterwork - Cyan
Excellent - Purple
Good - Green
Normal - Blue
Poor - Pale Yellow
Awful - Black
- Added support for race mods
- Added a color change in apparel's health bar, to show if it's tattered.
- Added support for Boots and Stuff mod.
- Added support for Dual Wield and Simple Slavery mods.

Known Issues
- Mechanoid gear tab crashed the game - FIXED.
- Conflicts with Smart Medicine, not game breaking, just the "Stock up settings" option in Gear tab is missing when used with my mod - FIXED, Thanks to Uuugggg for providing support for this mod.
- Didnt work with other race mods - FIXED, Thanks to Mehni.
- It is compatible with Simple Sidearms. Simple Sidearms has its own UI to show the sidearms. my mod only shows the currently equipped weapon, whether main weapon or sidearms.
- It isnt compatible with Combat Extended mod because both mods patch the gear tab. Saebbi is kind to provide a patch: it's in this forum thread. But if you use the patch, the Loadout feature of CE won't work. Thank you Yithend21 for uploading a CE version: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1792460604

Load Order:
- It doesn't matter. But if you are using Combat Extended, load this mod after (below) that.

Mods used in preview images:
- Hugslib
- JecsTools
- Humanoid Alien Races 2.0
- Twilek race mod
- Apparello 2
- FashionRimsta
- Boots and Stuffs
- Medieval Times
- Smart Medicine
- Simple Sidearms

Guys, I'm sure Ashen informed here that i stopped working on the mod. I never saw 1.1 coming.
Frankly, my laptop has an issue with Visual Studio(the software used to make C# mods for Rimworld) and i cant use it anymore. I managed to borrow my work computer and update the mod. But thats how much i can do now.

I'll try and maintain the mod and keep it updated to Rimworld version. That settings option to change the gear tab size to fit different monitor sizes, was a feature i wanted to add for a long time and i managed to do it.

And, Ashen also informed here that anyone can take over the mod for further developments and mod supports. Since i'm not planning to buy a new PC in the near future, I wont be able to work on the mod anymore. So, feel free to take over the mod or just its development, you can discuss that with Ashen.

Stay home, stay safe and protect yourselves from corona. Happy Gamings.

@CYFire you will need to know C# language and how to patch an existing class. Bcoz all the slots are made in code.

@DapperLaputan @pgames-food That is not vanilla friendly. players who use only QoL mods will be shown slots they can never fill up. So for me, this is the best approach. If you want to know how many apparels you can wear, check the apparel lists of the apparel mods you are using.
pgames-food Mar 30 @ 11:20am
yup thats what ive been asking for on several mod pages too :)

on the one hand, some players might not want to see tons of empty slots, and only show what they are wearing

but im the same as you, id love to see all possible slots (even it we have to scroll through a not-perfectly-aligned set of item slots), just so that we can know what we can still make use of in terms of putting something else on them.

another approach could be to use a right-click high-lighting system, which adds a background glow around any item that a pawn can wear (which fits into an un-used slot without making them take anything else off),

or, if we right-click on an item, it highlights the colonist bar to show which pawn has a free slot for that item (again, without making them take anything else off) - but this might need to be a separate mod :)
DapperLaputan Mar 30 @ 9:02am
I wish it would show empty slots for the extra items like neck slot and eyes slot so I would know what my pawns are missing.

Is there any good tutorial "How to make a mod patch?" I'd like to patch in "A Rimworld of Magic" and "Kurin threetailed fox" support for RPG Style inventory, but I got no clue how to even begin.
Sandy  [author] Mar 26 @ 7:11pm
@Canook Thanks to you and everyone, for saying kind words. It helped me put more effort in the mod.

@xXxCAPNxCHARxXx They appear when you wear a suitable apparel. Its so that, vanilla users dont have to see all those slots which they cant fill.
xXxCAPNxCHARxXx Mar 26 @ 5:09pm
How do I get the additional inventory layers as shown in the pics?
Canook Mar 26 @ 3:58pm
Thank you Sandy for all your hard work. These mods add so many amazing dimensions to the game. Your work is really appreciated.
