Mattchew's OCD guide to cuddly Outworld Devourer (Destroyer)
By Mattchew
Outworld Devourer is a low HP, high damage hero that is usually played in a solo mid or safe lane carry role, but can also be a very unconventional support! The items to aim for should generally be a mix of high intelligence and HP/armor. This guide is just a guide- I wrote it to be fairly open ended, since Dota has an insane amount of variables. Part of learning the game is identifying what skills and items are good in your current game situation. I'd love feedback! If you have questions, feel free to ask.

I appreciate your comment fourtonmantis! The reason I put the five branches in the starting items is that if you are sure you will dominate your lane, you might want to start out with a tango/salve and four to five branches. This will help rush your Mek. I formatted it this way just so you have a palette of items to choose from to fit your situation. I realize many guides put items there as "must buys", but I don't think Dota should be played that way.

I guess Emfyrio has never seen a professional game of Dota 2 and does not know what a third slot team fight support is. This OD build is pretty good (apart from the 5 iron branches in the starting items, or is that formatted differently ingame?). Maybe you should rename the "unconventional" to something else so that people who do not know much about Dota realize what you are talking about.

Emfryrio, thanks for your interest! This is not a guide built with a support OD in mind- I only mentioned that he could be used in that role (though that is often not seen).

Also, you can think of Mekansm as a better Vanguard to intelligence carry heroes. It makes you extremely survivable, and takes the burden of buying it off of support heroes (often this is done on a solo side Dark Seer, for example). You probably wouldn't get it if there is another hero on your team who is a better fit with the Mek.

In any case, this isn't a "you must get this item" guide. That's why there are so many "core" items, and why I went past 600 gold on the starting items. I wrote this so you have many item options at the ready while playing OD, as well as detailed descriptions of what may be good in a situation.

What the hell is this guide? Where is the support in all this guide? A mek ? Only support thing in all this guide. And why the hell a support picks hand of midas anyway? Starting items are just a jk. This is a bad carry guide to OD , not a support guide.
