How to get real match kits in game
Football Manager 2019 is a great game but when it comes to the graphics it can be a bit boring. One way to change that is by installing custom graphics. One type of graphic you can install is real match kits, not only does it make the game look better it also feels right to see real match kits when you look at a team compared to the default made up once.

The first thing you need to do to get match kits in game is to download a kit pack. There is a lot of different kit packs available here is links to two web pages that have a lot of them:
https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/kits
https://www.fmscout.com/c-fm19-kits.html

Downloading kit packs can be a bit annoying since they are usually huge in file size since they contain thousands of images but with a bit of luck and some patience you will manage to download a kit pack that you like.

After that you need to do small bit of configuration both outside the game and inside, this short 3 min video will show you exactly how to do it:

Thanks. But, no, I am using the in-game skin created by the SegaFM creators. No, I still havent figured out a way to avoid this optical oddity. One just has to learn to visually ignore it. Alas. Thankfully this has nothing to do with play; too bad an enhancement like cooler/newer kit packs for display on clubs' landing pages comes with this "extra shoulder pads look." An example of where one would LOVE to alter the in-game club kit is Hamburger Sport Verein in current FM2021. The home kit is traditional & looks great. Away is solid black. The 3d kit is an almost identical very dark gray and looks awful. Somebody could make some money being able to alter that 3d kit to something presentable, professional looking. Like in years past, a solid royal or navy HSV kit. It defeats the idea of a 3d kit when it looks identical to 2d/away kit (worse - they are truly ugly). What's a guy do who wants a club like HSV in the 2021 game? Ugly kit is demotivating.

gaticantel44: There is probably a way to avoid it, but since I have not created any kits myself just installed others kits I don't know. It may also be somthing with the skinn you use if you are using a custom skin.

Hi again. Thank you for responding so promptly to my last query about the kits one can obtain through creators' nicely done kitpacks. Here's another little problem I encounter: Though I see the new kit, it is like it is superimposed overtop the old one. It creates on a fair number of the kits across many leagues (but not all) a sort of odd looking shadow effect. It looks, no other way to put it, awkward. It defeats the intent of improving the optical gameplay enjoyment of seeing cool professional club kit on a club's info screen. Is there a way to avoid this "odd shadow effect?" I hope so. One particularly sees the "shadow" above the shoulders outline of the kit/jersey. If you have any ideas, Ater (or anyone else), I am all ears. Thank you & Happy New Year. Thanks for helping newbies or those of us not very skilled in all of this. It is appreciated. It does help us, when reading the content you have placed here, it does help us more enjoy the FM experience. Gracias.

galicantel44 : Yes unfortunately the games creators don’t let us change how the shirts look during matches, probably limitations with the game engine, would love for us to be able to have real shirts during the matches.

Okay, I used a kitpack. Thanks to the guy who created it. I mean it. It overall looks real good. However, it is just optical. Like when one goes to the general information page of a club, say a club in Spain's Second Division. There I see the kit (home shirt, away shirt and sometimes/often a third shirt too). Okay, well done. However, here's the problem or snafu: When actually playing that other club, well, the players out on the pitch are just wearing the original Sega FM 20__ game kit. Is that the way it is supposed to be? Or should I see kit on the pitch/in a match just as on the pregame and general infos screens leading up to a match? I ask that someone please clarify. Thank you.
