Sanction development initiated
The game Sanction is a really simple free multiplayer-based puzzle game, combining puzzeling, fun and rage. You basically play puzzles or create them, but still get to punish other people. Playing this game is winning or loosing, puzzeling and solving, but in the main part it's about having fun doing punishments.

As a creator you need to make a puzzle, if you make it simple or hard is your decision. The player gets to decide if they want to play it or not. After creating the puzzle the fun part comes. You can 'develop' with some tool or later an own script language a punishment in the game. Basically you can punish players with whatever you want to, but be careful, your own punishment could get back to you. An example of a punishment would be not to be able to use the computer for 5 minutes, or the punishment contains watching some (bad) YouTube video.

As a player you get to play puzzles. Once you started playing the game, you will get a random puzzle, but none of your own, created by someone in the community. If you cannot solve the puzzle or give up, you will receive the punishment the creator made, but if you solve the puzzle, the creator will receive his own punishment. To make the punishing more fun, the creator will get a notice if somebody got punished. It doesn't matter if you are online or not, it will get into a queue and you will receive the punishment(s) the next time you get online. If any player is trying to avoid punishment by e.g. shutting down their pc, their account will be banned from our system after 3 times. Of course you are able to directly quit a punishment, but the result will be the same. If there is any puzzle not solvable or unfair, or it was an emergency leaving the game during a punishment we will reset the ban counter for you. Also if some puzzle seems to be unfair, you can report the puzzle and our team will take care of it.

To avoid players just creating puzzles and not playing any, you will have a credit account, where playing puzzles gives you credit (even if you fail) and creating puzzles takes credit.

sounds pretty nice, just the banning people from the system bit sounds a little harsh... maybe you could change it to something like your credit is whiped or even negative credit if you try to avoid a punishment and obviously you would only receive credit after you have fully received the punishment. Apart from that, the idea sounds pretty amazing and i would definately give it a go :)

I wrote up a whole big list of my thoughts on this concept, but Steam apparently doesn't like comments having more than 1000 characters. Send me a direct message if any of you fine gentlemen want the full text.
